Read both books and read the actual history surrounding them for better context. Read about the cultures of the people involved, the time period, the general meta of the societies involved, the clashes of certain people living together in the space etc.. and you will understand why certain things were written

It’s better than being ignorant. I know a dude who’s a huge Christian and has read a lot of different religious texts. He makes solid educated points without being a stereotypical Luddite

As long as you have a mind that seeks to destroy ignorance, you’re not gonna be “brainwashed” by anything

Is he right? Or are you still on the fence?

For me personally I’m gonna need to read it in Biblical Greek and then read additional rabbi texts in Hebrew and I’ll come to my conclusion

The closer to the source material the better

The N.O
[al-Baqarah 2:136]
“O you who believe! Believe in Allah, and His Messenger (Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)), and the Book (the Quran) which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (him), and whosoever disbelieves in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away”
[an-Nisa’ 4:136].
But the Torah and Gospel were subjected to distortion and changes. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, "This is from Allah," to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby”
[al-Baqarah 2:79].
Because of this distortion and the mixing of truth with falsehood in these two Scriptures, it is prohibited to study them.
It was narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with some written material he had got from one of the people of the Book. He read it to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and he got angry and said: “Are you confused (about your religion), O son of al-Khattaab? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I have brought it (the message of Islam) to you clear and pure. Do not ask them about anything, lest they tell you something true and you disbelieve it, or they tell you something false and you believe it. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if Moosa were alive, he would have no option but to follow me.”
Narrated by Ahmad (14736); classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 6/34

Is what my uncle sent me

That's fine to read and study history yourself....

All that's going to do is leave you with one choice. Do you believe within yourself God's Word to be true and His Son is the Messiah or are you going to listen to the many voices in the world fighting against that?

You have to recalibrate your mind to understand what's going on here.

Spirits talk to each other in the spiritual realm. It's not like me and you talking with our physical voices. The communication is more like thought to thought (telepathy). You are made up of a spirit, soul, and body. So that means spirits can talk to your spirit.
But what most people think is that's just their own thoughts they are having. No most of your thoughts are coming from the spiritual realm. Whether good or bad. People think they are in control of their own lives. No you are being influenced by the many voices (spirits) or you are listening to the Voice of God "Word of God".

Your spirit is in a war on this earth because of events that happened long before you got here. Read Genesis. This is why you need to put on the whole armor of God.

How many times have you done something and thought after the fact that you didn't really want to do what you did? That's because you're not aware of the war your spirit is in. You have to understand the influences outside of yourself to be able to fight in this spiritual war you're in.

Ephesians 6:11-18
11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].

14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart),

15 and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news].

16 Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

18 With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.

God already knew all of this before He created you. But He wants you to understand what's going on around you so that you can take authority over your life and the parts of this earth that you should take authority over.

Isaiah 55:6-9
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.

9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

If anything, I'm a spiritualist. I believe our ancestors speak to us, guide us, protect us etc

Well you'd be listening to demons. Your ancestors are not talking to you from the spiritual realm. They are in either 1 of 2 places. The only spirits on this earth talking to the living are God, demons, and angels(good and evil)

Here we go. Bruh you just said not in the way we speak. But now they're demons? What's the difference between angels and ancestors?

When people die, that's it they don't have any affect on what happens on this earth with the living. It's up to the people still living to decide how they want to live.

Here's a story.

Luke 16:19-31
19 “Now there was a certain rich man who was habitually dressed in expensive purple and fine linen, and celebrated and lived joyously in splendor every day.

20 And a poor man named Lazarus, was laid at his gate, covered with sores.

21 He [eagerly] longed to eat the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores.

22 Now it happened that the poor man died and his spirit was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom (paradise); and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades (the realm of the dead), being in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom (paradise).

24 And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in severe agony in this flame.’

25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things [all the comforts and delights], and Lazarus likewise bad things [all the discomforts and distresses]; but now he is comforted here [in paradise], while you are in severe agony.

26 And besides all this, between us and you [people] a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to come over from here to you will not be able, and none may cross over from there to us.’

27 So the rich man said, ‘Then, father [Abraham], I beg you to send Lazarus to my father’s house—

28 for I have five brothers—in order that he may solemnly warn them and witness to them, so that they too will not come to this place of torment.’

29 But Abraham said, ‘They have [the Scriptures given by] Moses and the [writings of the] Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 He replied, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent [they will change their old way of thinking and seek God and His righteousness].’

31 And he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to [the messages of] Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”
