You aint never lie.

This makes me mad, sad and nostalgic all at the same time. Why can't any gaming company create powerful tracks like this anymore? I just don't understand... I have heard a track that has stood out to me like SNES, Genesis, and arcade game tracks since ps2 dropped.

your missing out on an entire genre of gold:ohlawd:

what do you play?
I agree with him. I've played games ever since the NES days and I've never like turn-based gamplay. It's silly to me because the enemy and me take turns attacking each other. There's no fun in that for me.

Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and Final Fantasy Tactics were life altering games for me.

Yasunori Mitsuda though :wow: Without the soundtracks I'm not sure what Chrono Trigger or Xenogears would have been. The stories probably influenced the soundtracks though. Mitsuda was in a zone for that shyt

co-sign this thread. One of my favorite most enjoyable games I've ever played. I was SO into the storyline, and the game still holds up today. Time traveling and shyt was fun as fukk as well, awesome dragonball z cutscenes. Game is EASILY in GOAT contention in the RPG genre

that soundtrack :wow:

All that shyt about Chrono Trigger retelling the bible though :wow:

I played through the game again recently and I saw that video. I was looking for more connections to make within the story and I may have found (a perhaps obvious) one.

But what I discovered is built around the mystics in Medina being Muslims, and they all follow Magus. I was trying to make the connection of Magus being Prophet Muhammad... And, although he is not a prophet during the times he leads the Mystics, I did finally realize he was the prophet from the Kingdom of Zeal.

So, although he isn't a prophet where you would expect him to be (in order to be legitimately Prophet Muhammad) , he is when he goes back to the Kingdom of Zeal.

The 3 Kings/ Magi connection with Balthasaar, Gaspar, and Melchior is one of the dopest parts of the game also.

Balthasaar is also in Xenogears.. although I think his role in that game is more negative (depending on your view), since he reveals to you that your gear is the one built to kill God and wants nothing to do with you.

Any game with those nikkas in it goes hard

And also if anyone is interested.. it is believed that the first Muslims were Christian mystics who held different views than the church, and perhaps Prophet Muhammad gathered his teachings from such sources.

Also, Muslims praise what they call the Kaaba, which they say is a black stone that fell from the sky during the times of Adam and Eve. I just realized this shyt, cause I was learning about this the other week, but this could be Lavos' real life counterpart.

Which could possibly make Magus the Prophet Muhammad to the Mystics in Chrono Trigger in a literal sense, since he has them hyped up about awakening Lavos, except contrary to their belief, Magus plans to destroy Lavos (which would be the end of the world)
