Fact- at the very end of my post I also advocated for blacks going to college..
I see what you're getting at, but comparing me to jay is idiotic and slightly offensive. Im sure there are millions of people who earn a decent living without a college degree. There is only 1 jay-z, so your analogy is way off.

what is/was your major? If you're post-college, are you using your degree now?
Majored in information systems and yes I am using my degree now.
Also I can guarantee you there are not millions of people making 100k a year (like you, allegedly) in this country without degrees
There is too much data that shows the correlation between having a higher education and having a higher income. I say going to private colleges is a racket. Unless it's a Ivy League, private universities are ridiculously overpriced. I went to a school ranked one of highest value colleges on Princeton Review. Tuition is only 6k a year for NY residents.

You can't just write it off as "these kids went to scrub colleges/majored in BS subjects." Plenty of unemployed STEM majors, actually. And plenty of kids with great educational pedigrees are unemployed.
It is hard out here and shyt is fukked. The general economic situation feeds into what we're seeing with student debt and lack of employment, and that in turn compounds the problem.

I said there are millions earning a decent living. 80k in nyc is probably equivalent to like 50k in any non descript suburb / lower tier city. There are plenty of trades that one can learn which pays a decent wage. These trades require less schooling and time than traditional colleges. Sure, you might not be making 100k, but that is hardly the criteria to live a happy life. The problem is that media and advertising fooled the public into equating true happiness with material wealth
