Just chiming in with my opinion. This is real normal for Hollywood. They pick a marketable actor for the roles regardless of race or sex. The actor could be taller, skinnier, fatter, lighter, darker, older, or younger. The only time there's an exception is when Hollywood nepotism is giving a fat check to one of their own.

About the only time I've seen the real person was better looking than the actress was Erin Brockovich.

And we have passively accepted it for far too long. This is not the role of a sex symbol falling in love...In my opinion, it is ridiculous to use Will Smith to represent a portly, dark skinned African scholar
