That's the problem though.
Because Bron refuses to play in a system, he needs an inordinate amount of talent around him to be able to win chips. His approach to the game creates the demand for a superteam.
Golden State's squad won their first chip (2015) with young players they drafted and a rock-solid system.
I can't defend the KD move or anything beyond that. If Russell Westbrook had even 20% more basketball IQ and court vision, OKC was poised to win a chip or two with that roster they drafted.
What I can say though is a system, deferring to a decent coach, and actually practicing with your teammates can yield extraordinary results.
We're seeing that right now with the way the Celtics are playing.
