The WWE made a mistake by putting him in a midcard match when it mattered most. I personally love Wyatt, but the casual fan that only watches around Mania time could probably care less about him. Seeing as how important this Mania was Cena should have been in the main event. If they put him in a main event title match against Lesnar or in a match against Taker for the Streak they would have surpassed the numbers they needed to make the Network profitable. There's only one guy IMO that provides a big fight feel in the WWE and that's Cena.

Speaking personally I would have bought the network for those two matches. Instead they catered to the minority, and they are where they are now because of it. With that said if Cena/Lesnar is the main event at Summerslam I'll probably buy the Network just for that match.

I dont think it was a mid-card match in terms of draw. It was mid-card in terms of it's placement during the WMXXX show.
They built it up as much as possible, but it simply is NOT bigger than the Streak match or the WWE title main event.
Not to mention, the match itself SUCKED. :scusthov:

Given the fact that Bryan was getting the biggest pops on the cards, it's not a bad move to put the belt on him. Nobody here can honestly say he wasn't on a path similar to Austin in 98. The problem is that his reign has failed since then due mainly to injury and other circumstances.

They wanted to make a splash w/ the Network, Bryan winning, Taker losing etc. I can't fault them for that. Worst case scenario, they can still turn it around a bit w/ Cena back in the main event :manny:

Also, I find it funny that ppl are basing their Network subs off who's the champion. That's foreign to me.

I bought the Network day 1 NOT because of Daniel Bryan(nobody knew for sure he'd be in the main event at WM at that time), but b/c I'm a wrestling fan....both past & present. I don't like Cena at all, but it doesnt mean I'm gonna cancel my subscription. Or not renew.

I have 2 wooden VHS/DVD videocases primarily full of wrestling vids....and now w/ this Network I don't need 99% of those. If I knew it was going to last for sure, I'd sell them on Ebay or put them in storage. For someone like me, $10 for access to all this is a STEAL(whether I got 2 weeks w/o watching or not), and that's primarily why I subbed.

The $10 new ppvs are just icing on the cake :takedat:

My attention was given and noted but when. You come back to reality and cast that blame on Vince McMahon, who everybody with an ounce of sense, knows lost that money...let me know. I've been pissing on trolls since day one.

CM Punk is a loser. U know why? He said he was putting asses in seats yet he only drew 8500 at Survivor Series 2012. What a fukking goofball. That was FILED AND UNDERSTOOD then...damn it STILL REMAINS FILED today.

cm punk was the champ and you say he only brought in 8500 people for that ppv
daniel bryan was champ and the wwe lost 750 million dollars
:sas2:
no wonder to this day they still have cm punk's profile on the site...they'd probably take him right now over brittle edge 2.0 bryan eh?

You can not expect A+ recovery from a B+ player.

Prince Paul and Queen Step give the IWC what they want and your boy not only buckles under the pressure but costs the company 750 mill.

:wow:
all the while looking like a hippie bum. :pacspit:

I don't blame Bryan nor have I ever been a fan of his, but I wouldn't be surprised if Vincent does. The WWE brass is infamous for being vindictive. They considered him an internet darling and didn't believe he could be the guy in the first place. You combine the money loss with the fact the guy got injured when they put the strap on him and needed him out there, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bryan never gets within arms length of those titles ever again.

Daniel Bryan was probably a huge part of the success of the business when Randy was champion.

Correlation is not causation, my friend. Business may have been up when Randy Orton was champ and Daniel Bryan was being featured prominently and all that happy shyt, but at the end of the day there are three very simple explanations for why business was booming, yet is no longer: 3. M. B. When they disappeared, so did the profits. That's all there is to it.

I think a few things went into this.

I tuned in around wrestlemania, the recent podcasts old wrestlers were doing got me interested again. I watched for like 3 weeks, but it's still the same "authority" angle. They have been running with this angle for about 15 years now............i would have thought they switched it up. I don't understand why HHH and stephanie mcmahan are even on the show:dwillhuh:

there is no need for stephanie macmahan unless stone cold is giving her the stunner as vinces daughter. Otherwise for real why is she there? She isn't sexy, and she doesn't wrestle and she's wack on the mic other than being able to be convincing as a c*nt. Why is HHH vince? Unless dude is going to be blowing out his quads in matches or partnered with HBK he shouldn't be on TV.

I also think it was a really stupid to create the network with that 6 month subscription. You can get netflix for free for a month and then cancel any time you want. Whoever thought that deferring from that model was a good idea, was an idiot, it's very carny-greedy and shiesty though so Im not surprised.

Only thing D-Bry or any main guy of the company should be blamed for is ratings, buyrates and house show numbers. D-Bry was pretty successful in all these areas so all that is moot. Vince making shytty tv deals and overestimating WWE network subscriptions is all on him :manny:

Plus I don't take that narrative seriously anyway. I believe most just say it to agitate @R=G :manny:
How can you say that when the main selling point was getting all the PPVs for free
