This is the ONLY headset I've seen that meets my requirements so far...all except that ridiculous $300 price tag. :camby: I'm not even trying to knock the XB1. Im genuinely shocked they don't have an option that fits what I've had on my PS4 since day one. I guess I'll have to rock a wired set for when I'm gaming, and shut it off and use the ps4 for any Netflix / streaming stuff. Still crazy whack that even when gaming I pretty much HAVE to have a headset plugged into the controller if I want to use one. And what the heck is up with having to buy a separate $25 adapter for the controller just to use a headset!?:camby:
Ok bruh, slow ya roll. There are plenty of solutions out there. But before I do, I don't get the wireless thing.
Unless you playing Kinect enabled games? Why would being wired to a controller be an issue? You move around while watching movies on netflix? The controller is wireless, put it down and watch TV :manny:

But, for wireless and surround sound. Its not gonna be as cheap as the PSgolds because that is what SONY did for you guys. They made that, and made it cheap. Bravo Sony :salute: You got one thing right

Now on Xbox, Turtle Beach pretty much has this on lock, and they range from $70 to $300 depending on what you looking for. I too be in the market for these headsets and I found a few at the lower $100 dollar range. Here ya go, even tho I haven't splurged yet. Got a sound bar instead, its virtual DTS surround sound and dolby work fantastic. But I still want that 5.1 to 7.1 sound for online gaming. So you got...

At the TB website they have these for $229, but you can find them much cheaper if you look around
http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/xbox-one-headsets/ear-force-stealth-500x/552

But then I ran into this

http://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/2echbt/what_are_the_best_5171_headsets_available_for_the/

And they basically say the Stereo joints be working better than the $300 joints because its illogical to be able to properly squeeze 7.1 sound into 2 headsets (which sort of makes sense)
They say the quality is shytty for those headsets, and that the stereo's that emulate surround sound end up sounding better :leon:

Here is one they recommend...

http://www. amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-H3CL/dp/B00JJNQG98/

But if you want 7.1 claims, here ya go for under $100
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_...&kpid=109771&gclid=CMzH4IPSrcUCFUE8gQodSwsAYQ

But peep the description on how they achieve the 7.1 sound. Even they say its not very logical how its "done" industry wise. This topic hasn't really come to its conclusion as of yet, but it is something I tackle.. well, will tackle once the site is officially official

Like I said, if I'm going to have to be wired to the headset no matter what, and limited to stereo sound no matter what headphones I use and still stay in the $100 price range, I'll just get the adapter and use my Sony Golds on the Xbox one. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a huge disappointment and unfortunate that MS didn't really think of a better solution outside of plugging a wire into the controller which requires an additional adapter to work.
Sony spoiled me in this category. Nothing beats the convenience of grabbing my wireless set of headphones and sitting back and blasting the audio late at night.
Being plugged to the controller at all times and having to leave the controller on as well is something only Nintendo would do...and now...MS.

And you're still with that sound bar saying it has virtual surround. Its 2 speakers...in front of you. At least inside the head set you can get away with sound bouncing around. Like I told you before, I have a similar set up with a sound bar, a subwoofer, and all the cute little virtual surround blah blah blah and I'm telling you, I've never jumped and turned around like "Oh snap. I thought I heard Godzilla BEHIND me just now." You are never going to get that effect with a sound bar man. It might work well for your needs but you're exaggerating the performance like crazy.

And how is being forced to have a wire running from the headset to the controller at all times perfectly acceptable to you knowing there are products out there that have been doing this better, for cheaper, for a long time, but if you run a wire from the controller to the console to recharge it, immediately Sony lost?

I'm not a console stan. Each console does things I like and don't like. I'm just not understanding your logic.

Have you ever actually gamed with a surround sound (virtual or otherwise) headset? It doesn't sound like you have. From my experience with both versions, surround sound is a completely different experience. What people often confuse it how loud the headphones get. Its common for the overall volume to be a bit lower when using virtual surround. They are already loud enough, but going from VSS to stereo the difference in volume can be noticeable, yet still, nothing beats the sounds of bullets sound like they are flying past you and footsteps really sound like they are literally behind you.

I got the Sony golds for the ps4 and I love them. Completely wireless, has a microphone, virtual surround sound and they knock, all for $100. (I was able to scoop them at target for $50 a few months ago). I was about to do a little google-ing here and there but I figured since the coli put me on the golds the coli might be able to put me on to some good $100 or less wireless Xbox 1 head phones. What say you?
I use the same ones with the both the PS4 (wireless) and Xbone (w/ adapter and wired).

SOHH ICEY N.O.
I copped sony ps golds But the sound to me wasn't close to my turtle beaches tbh.

Now I just use my turtle beaches on both consoles. Wireless doesn't really hold that much value to me

I went ahead and copped the microsoft ones. The audio is a noticeable downgrade from the Sony golds although they aren't terrible. I played titanfall for 30 minutes and the controller completely disconnected once on me (with fresh batteries). I googled this and apparently it's a known issue that the Xbox controllers will disconnect from time to time when using a headset.
Another epic win for Microsoft :stopitslime:
