The team plays the EXACT same way. Russ/KD still playing hero ball, and Ibaka barely even plays in the paint anymore...so that part is even worse than before.

And in the end they still underachieved, possibly worse than they ever did under Brooks

Nah, you can see a difference in the team. Billy D has been a good influence on the whole system, but this is year one.

His "system" is gonna take more than a year to cement itself in these players minds, specifaclly Russ and KD. He said it in the presser, they did so much good shyt...had so much working only to resort back to OLD HABITS. This next year is about breaking those tendencies, if they don't, they will never win shyt.

I also wonder how keen he is on getting Russ to play the two, even if only in spurts.

IN the perfect Disney movie, Donovan is killed in a buffalo stampede and Mark Jackson takes the helm and brings the Thunder to a championship run that includes beating the Warriors. :wow:

Terrible reactionary bullshyt thread.

OKC needs to get another wing that can shoot and be decent defensively and they are set. Roberson's broke ass jumper is what sealed OKC's fate in this series

Billy had this team rolling through the first four games of the series. Unfortunately for him, the team reverted to some of their bad habits.

Also, two great players in Golden State just had other worldly shot making to end the series. There's nothing ANYBODY can do about that.

he didn't have them rolling as much as GS was playing sloppy. Throwing bad/predictable passes everywhere resulting in turnovers that allow them to blow them out.

Once GS stopped turning the ball over so much, things were different. And other than Klay in game 6, nothing was out of the ordinary for what GS usually does.

OKC under Brooks had times where they were DOMINANT too. People just look to the failings & underachievments rather than the good stuff....but this choke job is worse than anything under Brooks

They already got Dion Waiters. They can't expect to have another JAmes Harden.

And blaming Roberson for 'sealing their fate' in the series? :comeon:

They lost in seven to the league's only 73 win team. That is not a choke job and they have nothing to be ashamed about. Stop being a prisoner of the moment.

OKC WAS rolling. Anything else is revisionist history. People get so concerned with placing blame when somebody loses, that no one wants to give credit. Steph Curry is the best player in the league and was the best player on the floor in Game 7. Klay Thompson set a playoff record for threes in game six. No coaching stops great players from playing out of their minds.

Stopped going to the high pick n roll with KD/Adams...and that down screen to get him open for that mid-range jumper:manny:

...I never understand having a great shooter like Durant WORK to get an open shot...set that nucca SCREENS...especially when he gotta actually play defense in a playoff series...saves them legs.

:laff:

Did you watch the last 2 games? Roberson's inability to make Golden State pay for leaving him open is what hurt the Thunder more than most realize. It also encourages the narrative about KD/Westbrook "not trusting their teammates" because after you see a guy miss 3 or 4 wide open corner 3s I'm sure any star player would be hesitant to keep passing him the rock... when there's less time on the clock.

Dion Waiters is too streaky of a set shooter to fill the role that I'm speaking of. They really have everything outside of a SG/SF that can just play D and hit an open shot. They need to dig some and try and find somebody that can do that for them. They really are set everywhere else IMO.

:wtf: fukk bringing up Scott Brooks right now, Donovan did a great job this season.

Donovan can't make dudes hit shots & the whole team couldn't hit shots the last 2 games. If KD & Russy didn't both have a terrible shooting night at the same time in game 6 they would have beat the Warriors. They were both off & at the end beat themselves by trying to protect the lead instead of just playing.
