So Far Gone is my most played mixtape/album of all-time :wow:

Been put on so many people in high school back before it dropped. Burned Comeback Season CDs for folks like nobody's business.. didn't even ask for money in exchange, just blessed them with the good music free of charge :ohlawd:

So Far/So Gone was played by everybody when it dropped. It was received well by the females because it wasn't degrading and sounded like a college love letter. Dudes liked it too because it worked well with the ladies, and Drake offered a type of honesty and perspective in his music that was fresh.

Seemed like every female was playing "Best I Ever Had" or "Houstanlantavegas" and every dude was bumping "Successful" or "Uptown".

Like I mentioned before, Drake resonates well with his fanbase because his music contains a certain honesty and perspective which allows people to identify with him one way or another.

Couple of people gave me the :rudy: when I told them the guy from Degrassi made music and it was actually good.

Comeback Season :wow:

I remember people used to swear Drake was an industry plant. He was already two mixtapes in and onto the third when he started getting any real attention :what:

i saw degrassi on and then his replacement video girl on at the end as promotion

then all of a sudden comeback season dropped, and i couldn't hear it for mad long cause i wasn't internet savvy back then and i wasnt gon buy that shyt off his myspace

but once the weezy cosign followed, it seemed like within a month or two most buzzing artist of this new generation. i felt like every rapper that came after him tried to replicate that same buzz and success and couldn't do it

I'll be a Drake fan because of his work on Comeback Season. That shyt was flawless. I can't really explain why or how he managed to do that.

The fact he managed to do that lets me know he came from that and has it in him.
