He had 13 sacks last year, but now he's overrated. If he was wasn't legit teams would go to his side of the ball every time. Actually watch him and you'll see why he's starting to line up in different spots. It's not him being overrated it's ESPN forcing us to see everything he does every single day in the summer. I'd take him on my NFL team in a heart beat.

Great post. People have unrealistic expectations. I'm a Ohio State fan their our people on the board complaining about winning by 40 points and calling Urban Meyer a bad coach. People get pumped up and have unrealistic expectations.

People watch too much ESPN and see the praise Alabama gets and thinks that should be them right away. Same with the hyping of the players. It's dumb and people really need to watch players before deciding they aren't that good

This happens all the time when a player comes expected to be the #1 overall pick.

They have very little to prove and the only thing left for analysts to find in their game are minor flaws. Or in this case, simply failing to live up to unrealistic expectations. :yeshrug:

knew this was coming....once espn put their sights on him and made him into the second coming of lt, peppers, kerse, & reggie rolled into 1...if he doesn't put up ridiculous numbers every game, the narrative will be 'he's overrated; something's wrong with him; he's not that good; etc'....it's the ole 'build them up to tear them down' media bullshyt...anyway, it's cool...that cat is still:

1. the best player in the nation
2. going 1 or 2 in the draft....depends if the 1st team needs a qb or not...

it takes a another decent pass rusher/DE on the other side so the offense has to play straight up and then you can see clowney shine. But he's getting double teamed and they run away from him.....so he is shutting down one side of the field for the most part.

but a NFL defensive coordinator would overload the side he ain't on so he can makes some plays as they are forced to deal with him.....and move him around as well.
in the proper scheme Clowney could be a beast every series

People expect to see Terell Suggs every week....but the Ravens scheme really well. And Suggs plays outside linebacker technically.... so he can get a head of steam going. Clowney is usually on the line.

if clonwey can play outside linebacker in a 3-4....then he is worth a number one pick.

I don't believe in a 4-3 defense and the 4-3 defensive end position now in days.....I rather just blitz an outside linebacker when I feel the need to simulate a 4-3.

ATL…overly
yall nikkas dont know how to watch football. when it comes to defensive players you don't look at numbers you look at what the offense does to stay away from that player. he's getting doubled every play, he's forcing teams to go the other way on a constant basis, he's forcing coordinators to run quick pass plays. but you'd have to know football to realize that. you prob watch games like a woman

Where was this :cape: last yr when he had 13 sacks & 23.5 tackles for a loss last yr. offenses were shifting coverage to him last yr & he was still blowing shyt up. Now that his numbers are down "it's not about numbers & b/c we don't watch the game" :beli: I was in Columbia last wk & saw him yesterday & he's simply not getting it done

JaDeDe The Clown has 5 tackles & 1 sack in 2 games. :flabbynsick: Stop protecting this nikka like a woman

NOTE: He will still probably be the #1 pick in next yrs draft

Still a top 2 pick in the draft. Still one of if not the most talented defensive player in CFB. Still has opposing teams running there offenses running schemes solely to stop him.

He'll be fine.

The Raiders will no doubt jave the 1st pick, and they'll takr a qb.
I see the potential, but he's not this scary beast people say he is. He's not Derrick Thomas, LT, Reggie White good, but he could be Julius Peppers,Simeon Rice good. And Thats pretty good.

nikka consistently wins the 1 on 1 battle with whomever is trying to block him. He's going top 5 if he doesn't play another down this year.
