So when did being the best loser become more valuable than winning it all?

I am literally dumbfounded at this new development on pretty much every basketball message board.

It has pretty much become the consensus opinion that 3-4(7 finals appearances) is a better career achievement than 6-0(6 finals appearances;2 3-peats)

Can some explain why this is?

Do people believe Lebron woul rather be 3-4 vs 4-0?:dwillhuh:

So did Jim Kelly have a better playoff career than Brett Farve?:dwillhuh:

I don't believe that is the argument at all. The argument is it's better to make the Finals (regardless of win/lose) than not make the Finals at all. Going to the Finals seven times and only winning three titles (3-4) is still a better accomplishment than going to three Finals' and winning them all (3-0). Being 3-0 in the Finals just means you and your team weren't good enough to make it to another FOUR Finals', and lost earlier in the playoffs. It's simple. I don't know why we need to keep going over this.

Not saying he'll win 7

losing early is not a knock on anybody
its only on lebron
because he is the one who chose to hide in eastern conference all his career

He still has to beat the best team to come out of the west every year

It's weird though. I mean 2 of the losses were no mans land. And there are people who lost finals that they were actually favorites in.

07' against the Spurs, that Cavs team had no business being in the finals
And the Warriors without Love and Kyrie

Are two that any player is going to lose in my opinion.

Mavs was inexcusable
Spurs you can't make excuses for, he chose Miami

Still, 3-4 is still excellent, and he can retire with 7 depending on how this all plays out
