Even if this next one is perfect, the other two are too flawed for it to be the best trilogy ever. Best superhero trilogy, maybe, but better than all other trilogies? No way. Godfather, etc are still better.

How are the firsst two severely flawed?
Begins - Reestablished the Batman franchise and gave it credibility again also gave Batman a gritty vibe it's never seen before.
Dark Knight - One of the biggest and maybe most popular movie of this generation, probably GOAT superhero movie.
Rise - If it does anything the first two did then I'm gonna have to put it up there and by all means it's looking atleast better than Begins

All of this talk is pretty stupid without actually seeing the third......
That said....if it's somewhere on par with the first two, it's pretty high. Certainly not the best as none come close to either of the first 2 Godfathers....
And neither of the first two Batman films are better than Raiders of the Lost Ark...but Temple of Doom is worse than both of them. I'd have a hard time putting it ahead of Indiana Jones personally.

Neither Batman Begins nor The Dark Knight are clearly better than Alien or Aliens....or Terminator 2. I didn't say those trilogies were better, I was just listing what's on my list....

This honestly has potential to be #2, but can fall to 4/5 if it is trash. But I doubt it. No way it bests the Original Star Wars as best Tri but it can easily be #2. That said here are my current top 10 Tri's, based on MY personal feelings towards movies. Notice, some may have more than 3, I'm judging tri's before the studios got money hungry.
So right now I have
1. Star Wars Ep. IV, V, VI (This is just the standard that all shall be judged off of)
2. Matrix Tri (I loved the philosophical aspects that just flew over most peoples heads. I appreciate the depthness that people also seemed to miss on the sequels)
3. Lord of the Rings Tri(I love fantasy flicks and really loved this, but not as much as most although my only gripe being the extension of ROTK. Matrix beats it for me on originality of the story[not coming from a book] and its depth)
4. Hannibal Lector Tri (Almost forgot about my favorite book trilogy growing up. This is what led me to pursue a degree in psychology at first. Lectors depthness, cunning, smarts. How sick this shyt is. Its adaptation is on point in the movies. )
5. Indiana Jones Original Tri (I loved these as a kid, the historical references, the yamashimiyama dude, the Indeeeeeeeee kid. Replay value is on point and all 3 are almost equal. The 4th one is an adopted kid to me and shouldn't be considered, greedy azz studios
)
6. Die Hard (Why did they go 4?....fukin money i swear, well this is based off the original 3. I love this shyt. Yippeekayee mothafuka)
7. Alien Tri (I loved this shyt as a youth, and still do. The egg creatures jumping on peoples faces and forcing them to swallow still has me on
status. Like you will see with GodFather, this shyt is hampered by its stepson of #3 after a flawless first 2)
8. Back to the Future Tri (Marty McPiff, just on replay value alone this sits up here, I can't grow tired of my occasional watches)
9. The Godfather Tri (One bad apple...based on the 1st 2 alone it would be #2...MAYBE, prolly not., Im honestly not into the 'mob' flicks as most are but i still appreciate how groundbreaking this Tri was. The third installment defined how things can go wrong in the end of trilogys. It's still a decent flick, but its standard and replay vallue for me is meehhh status)
T 10. Star Wars Prequel Tri (I enjoyed the this more than most, i mean, you had to develop a backstory after an original. You can only do so good. Although a lot of people shyt on II, I liked it, Annie was a simp and emo...which is why he was turned so this explained the shyt good.)
T 10. Terminator Tri (Gawd dayam, how much could you fuk up a 3rd, just ask the people of Terminator. After 2 straight piff films, the 3rd just is pure shyt.)
