So who is looking to sign up for "Obamacare" in about 2 weeks?

It crazy how so many people are having issues with this. I was signed up in like 30 minutes. The only thing that took long was waiting for my card to come in the mail and picking a PCP.

People who are saying this need to state their salary, and where they live and you'll probably have your answer your answer.

If you are in a republican state like texas which refused to expand medicare then you will likely be paying more for your insurance. Those are just the breaks with being in a state with a republican led government.

Right. I do not see where your article contradicts anything that I said. Did you even read what you just quoted...it supports everything I said and said the number does not include those who received Medicaid extensions.

:mjlol: show me the numbers of those who submitted payment for the first month's premium... Because according to the guidelines, a person isnt enrolled until they submitted the payment..

This isn't really all that significant at this point. I'm not about to stand here and be the salesman for the PPACA or its roll out because I'm not with is like THAT. But just because you're against something like you are doesn't mean you have to sit here and act like a Congressional Republican.

Texas :snoop: I don't plan to stay at my job longer than another month but I'm on pace to make around 20K a year at the moment and have to pay 131 a month for the cheapest plan. I'm just a young man trying to start their life up :why:

Bless you young man. Just know that there are some out here who understood what this law was. From the start. We'll be the people who can demand real health care in this country. Make sure you spread your story. Unfortunately your story is very common.

The working class gets screwed again.

The vast majority of what is in the PPACA is positive, not "some", MOST. From the Affordable Care Organizations, so on. These are all things that we'd want in a single-payer system anyway. It's just that without that public option, cost-control becomes much more difficult (and we'd probably still pay more for basic services than any other developed nation absent changes to some major policies).

With this system, the premiums were always going to rise for some people because health insurance companies can no longer turn people away because they are sick....thus the pool contains more sick people that are factored into group plans. The question was always whether or not we as a society were willing to make that sacrifice for a healthier society. The biggest detriment to Obamacare is the SCOTUS voting against forcing states to have to extend Medicare for poor people.

You know, what I think will happen eventually is what is happening Vermont. They are set to go single player in 2017. I was always part of the camp that said that the idea of extending Medicaid to the next costliest group (mid 40s and 50s) for a period to see how that would effect the system before implementing nation-wide single-payer\public option was a good idea. VT is implementing the ACA system, but is doing so with eyes towards 2017. It makes the most sense. Eventually the ACA will be tweaked and there will be a public option--there has to be. It just makes logical sense.

That's because Texas refused to extend medicaid. You would have been eligible. The PPACA didn't anticipate the SCOTUS striking down that mandate.
