Prodigy should own this thread...

Mobb Deep break up:why:

TERRIBLE album that flopped:to: (4k first week:sadcam:)

Accusations from someone whose known you all your adult life that your a flaming fakkit:damn:

Every associate you've ever known from the project you represent calling you out/ threatening to murk you:ufdup: even Mike Delorean, who you claim scuffled with Nas said that Nas would fukk you up and your a lying piece of shyt.

Yeah but Prodigy's star faded like 500 years ago... this year was just the apex of all his accumulated sonnings and fails.

i don't like 2 Chainz and i think his music is :trash: but, :shaq2: if you think his star is fadin. he's on that annoyin champs (i think) commercial that gets played all the time and music wise rappers for some reason still askin him for feats. i wish he was fadin but i can't hate bul is everywhere.

2 chainz blew the fukk up in 2012. Older ladies at my job know who he is. His songs are all over the radio in the south. He is on the biggest rap song of the year (mercy), birthday song is still played ironically. How much bigger can a rapper in his late 30s get?

Good goddamn question. Dude has no clue what he's talking about.

Nah breh, I do.

2 Chainz is getting it right now, but the fact is outside of a few songs, his album was medicore.

What that means he has not a lot to fall back on because his album can't push him because it was weak.

I understand 2 Chainz sold well, and that he got nominated for a Grammy. Props to him for that. But there's nothing about him that gives you any indication he's even gonna get shine once it's next album time....he gave us what he had, it was cool and there's nothing really about him that makes us want to pay any more real attention. He had his shot.

But I ain't stubborn, so if most of y'all say I'm wrong here, then I probably am. To me it just feels like that though.

Lupe is back on his feet again after Lasers and his next album will be the return of the king, lets not kid ourselves we all know its going to be fire. He stopped that losing streak he was on and had a year of resurgence so shut the fukk up. :shaq2:

In terms of stars fading however none have had a worse year than Ross, I'll give him one more year before its all finished for him. Lil Wayne had a pretty shytty year as well.

Drake/Kendrick and if I'm honest the whole of the West Coast probably had the best year.

Don't sleep on New York though I can feel them coming back from the dead next year :shaq:

2 Chainz and Meek Mill did NOT fade at all.

B.o.B? Yes.

Big K.R.I.T? He had an uneven year. 4EvaNaDay dropped but then the album didn't live up.

Waka Flocka Flame? Absolutely.

Nicki Minaj? To a degree. She's fading in hip-hop circles, but if she's fading then what does that make Mariah Carey? She'll still get attention and her hits will still blow up, but you almost feel like she'll get played out sooner than later.

Game and Lupe? Not musically (both dropped really good albums), but clearly their heydays are behind them. It's as if people don't care as much when they drop (anyone who blames Lasers for why Lupe's not doing well now is being disingenuous)

A$AP Rocky's star did NOT fade. This is coming from the same site that declared fukking Problems a flop. The Coli can't comprehend buzz for shyt sometimes.

2Chainz still has potential. The album was weak tho, with lots of corny beats, but his presence on Ali Bombaye was great and a better produced effort will get him back in everyones good graces

Doesn't mean anything. 2 Chainz might be the hottest name out. He's the feature you go to to add something extra to your song. What happens later on we'll see, but right now, 2 Chainz is riding high. Can't take that from him. Worry about next album time when next album comes. Otherwise all you're doing is predicting a fading star, not declaring one.

Nope, Lupe's legit fading. He gave every whiner and complainer the album they wanted and nobody cared because they're still butt hurt over Lasers. He dropped his album yet not even hardcore Lupe fans went all out for it.

Ross didn't have a bad year at all. He's still everywhere. What Ross didn't do was make the leap a guy like T.I. made where he went from regional to known in hip-hop circles to being known everywhere. The album still did well, Rich Forever in many people's opinion was the best mixtape to drop and the label's doing better now. I could see it if Ross bricked and nobody cared anymore. He's just stuck in the same place, but that same place is doing well for him.

Wayne simply had a quiet year by comparison other than D4. I wouldn't take that as his star necessarily fading.

I don't know what some of yall mean by fading. 2 Chainz is one of the biggest rappers out right now and if anything his starpower is getting bigger. Meek just dropped his solo album only a couple months ago so he hasn't even had time to fade. Waka Flocka, Nicki, and maybe T.I should really be the only answers

Meek n Nicki

Nobody even talks about that Meek album anymore. And it only came out a couple months ago.
