Plus it's new York city too. Everybody here is so cliquey it's gross. It's better to go with people you know so you can actually enjoy yourself there.

I believe it was 2012 the year when Janelle Monae(my future wife) and Erykah Badu, as well as I believe Danny Brown was supposed to be there. Either way that year a chick I met in college who worked there invited me to go with her but I couldn't make it. I used to be hard press to check out the original AfroPunk up in NYC but I'm not real interested anymore for a few reasons, one of which includes the admission charges

I do wanna check out the ones in ATL and London tho. DC even had an AfroPunk event 2 years ago and I only found out after it happened and it was an undisclosed location
