But Brooks and Vinny were given a chance, without B.Shaw's training and experience. Why?

B. Shaw's training and experience are MAJOR red flags. For as great as Phil Jackson is, having his seal of approval is like the kiss of death. Nobody wants to take a chance on a guy who will stress an offensive philosophy that hasn't been successful let alone mastered by anyone other than his superior and superior only. The last guy that did was the last guy that used to be what Shaw is now, and that's Rambis, and he failed miserably.

There's a reason why in a copycat league, nobody tried to emulate the triangle offense (and it IS a copycat league, Kidd being hired partially due to the success of Mark Jackson is proof of this)

Who said he wasnt hired because of expereince? you have no knowledge of why he wasnt hired but im sure there was a reason for it

Teams who interviewed him obviosuly liked other guys better then him

You are correct I don't. Like they say, coaches are hired to be fired. The fact that coaches have been given chances to coach, based off of a lack of experience working under successful coaches, Or even professional playing experience...hints at the inconsistent hiring practice

Is it a popularity game, if so don't pretend that it's not
If there are other factors, then don't hype the importance of paying your dues of being an assistant coach

B.Shaw has playing experience and coaching experience being assistant coach to success franchises, but the chance to coach goes to someone who just retired.

Is it really that big a deal? maybe he sucks in interviews? nikkas act like dudes guaranteed to be a great coach
He's not a bad interviewer. He keeps getting interviews. Usually a bad interviewer gets stuck with that reputation and never gets a shot (like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar)

But we don't know what type of offense or defense he's going to depend on though. That in itself is speculation. We are all assuming that he went into the interview and said ...triangle offense all day everyday. Vinny, Lawrence Frank, Scott Brooks were all given a chance to be fired before Mark Jackson was given his chance. That's my problem, there is no consistency, like Stephen A once said, no pipeline to get a chance at coaching

Then Shaw's not going a good enough job of separating himself from that (tough to do so-- you're asking Shaw to negate the experience he has)

Rambis got the Minny job initially because he swore he wasn't gonna use triangle as his main offense. He stressed up tempo ball, with only elements of the triangle to be used in the half court. What he wound up doing was literally trying to mimic Phil from the allowance of letting shooters beat you from outside to how Phil will sometimes not call a timeout even when you're getting your ass kicked. On a young team that shyt confuses players. The irony is that Rambis was known as the main reason for why the Laker defense was so good, and he let everyone score when he coached.

Teams are being unfair with Shaw, but they're gun shy because of that. Someone just needs to give him that opportunity, but when even the team that swore he was on the fast track to succeeding Phil passed on him (partially because they wanted to revert back to Showtime Lakers), that's tough.

Shaw is going to Denver and unlike Kurt Rambis, he's not going to be asked to win with Luke Ridnour and Beasley as his 2nd and 3rd best players. :mjpls:
