I really only ever wanted to hear Ortiz...

When I first heard Joell it was a breath of fresh air. He was so dope. I had the same feeling listening to him that I got when I first heard 50 before he blew up. I had to listen to everything he had on YouTube. I downloaded every freestyle he had there. He was suppose to blow. I don't know what happened. He came out with a couple decent projects. His slippers album was wack and I haven't heard anything since. The only rappers I ever heard that I thought were instant stars was 50, Joell, and now Don Q. Don Q still has time but his last tape wasn't as good as his first and now he raps like a junkie.

For some reason I had wished Don Trip would've blew up. I don't listen to that south shyt but I really fukk with his music

there's so much :duck: in this thread that I won't even address some of it. (lol @ SH being signed to Amalgam Digital :dead:)

here's how it went:

*the first song called Slaguhterhouse drops ft. all the members & Nino Bless*

reaction "what if they made this a group?" :ohhh:

*first official songs by the group drop*

sohh/coli: "they'll never release an album though"

*album gets announced*

sohh/coli: "I'm calling it now, it will be pushed back multiple times"

*album drops*

sohh/coli: "They'll never release another one though"

*rumors about them signing to Shady*

sohh/coli: ":russ::russ::russ::russ: never gonna happen"

*Slaughterhouse signs to Shady*

sohh/coli: "they'll never release an album over there though, Cashis all over again"

*Slaughterhouse drops an album on Shady* (and a mixtape before the album & another one 2 years after the album)

sohh/coli: "why Slaughterhouse failed?"

the answer is that they didn't fail. Name another 'super group' where somewhat accomplished solo artists who had all been rapping for 7 to 13 years came together, lasted that long and dropped 2 albums, 2 mixtapes, an EP, bunch of songs, hopped on bunch of remixes and did bunch of radio freestyles as a group.

I'll wait...

They all dope lyricists in they own right but they suck

Nobody cares about what they have to say

Even the Eminem push couldnt help that should tell you that much
Signing to Shady in the first place is what ruined it
that's a easy answer, Interscope along with Shady Records. they can't promote anybody besides Eminem. their self titled debut album before signing with Shady was better than their major album
Yep
  • A horrible label (Amalgam Digital)
  • A lukewarm album that didn't sound like the track name by any means:scust:
  • Joe Buddens being the oddball of the crew
  • Royce Da 5'9>>>>Slaughterhouse
  • Nino Bless should have been in the group
  • Shady fukking up their mainstream apparel
  • The Slaughterhouse mixtape>>>>the Slaughterhouse shady album
  • fukk Shady
  • fukk Eminem for ruining the album
  • fukk Eminem for being on the album
  • fukk Eminem for giving Slaughterhouse those gawd awful beats
The group failed within itself the moment it was more than just a collab track:francis:
It wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Joe, They were never signed to Amalgam, it was E1..and no Nino Bless should have never been in the group :mjlol:
Signing with shady records and getting Eminem beats and getting into a beef with the Wu via Budden
Wu beef had nothing to do with anything, but completely agree with the rest.

They failed because they aren't mainstream artists, they would've in some terms had much more success if they stayed independent.

They are not used to being told which beats to rap over.

The first album was decent & their second album could've had much more potential...they would've fixed the short comings from the first album on their own accord if they stayed independent but decided going to mainstream.

They failed for two reasons.

One, shady records tried to force them to be pop stars and take an approach to record making that wasn't for them as they did to many other artist on their label after a time including Yellawolf (the confederate flag defending white rapper). Shady records them had them rapping over beats they normally wouldn't and had them working with artist they normally wouldn't to try and make them stars instead of just letting them rap. The proof is that their mixtapes were better then their albums/Projects.

Two, lyrical rap doesn't get you as far as it once did and is not as respected.

Fun Fact.

Charles Hamilton (And Nino Bless) were suppose to be in SlaughterHouse (No Lie)

Charles Hamilton was but Joe was having that at all lol.
