So why is getting called "papi" acceptable, but "daddy" isn't?

Never really thought about it. I've seen dudes call each other both names too. Daddy was always like some old school shyt to me. Papi just sounds better to me .

Because papi is a foreign language. I grew up around alot of Ricans and they always call any dudes that they familiar with papi. So I never looked at it as meaning daddy. I just knew whenever they started calling you papi, you was either mad cool or you was close to smashin. As a native English speaker there was no other way for me to perceive daddy as anything other than someones pops:yeshrug:
