Too one dimensional, too much outside of the Hollywood establishment (partially due to a radical act I applaud him for by building his own studios), and has a limited appeal (at this point) to a wider audience.

Some valid responses...but honestly, aside from the acting (which he hasn't had the opportunity land a major role), he surpasses Will as a musician/vocalist and comedian.

Problem is he isn't great at any of them. He is good at all that stuff but nothing truly great.

I mean outside of the race issues, hairline, cornball comments, etc, realistically the dude hasn't really try to market himself as a movie star. He was a comedian, not an actor, first and his first big break was on "Whose line is it anyways". Not many comedians cross over to being big movie stars and the only cross over he has really done is the host of game shows

So, that is most likely your answer for why he is where he is now and at this age most likely going to stay there.
