I would say Braun, but I got a feeling, that if he continues to the grow at the current rate he is on, after his 2nd title, he won't even need to have the title too legitimize him anymore. He'll be so over like Taker, having the title or not having it, won't affect him.

Roman's already had 3 title runs and still struggling to get the crowd on his side. Vince will do, like he did with Cena and continue to give him title runs after title runs, thinking the crowd is going to some day give up, if he continues to push Roman as his face of the company.

There isn't one. Or rather, if there is one, we don't know who they are yet.

The thing about "top guys" who transcend the business is that they're usually built organically and not something you can call on first glance. You think anyone looked at Austin back in the day and said "Yeah man, that damn Ringmaster is going to be the guy who will revolutionize this industry?" Maybe someone did, but everyone else probably thought they were crazy. Cena likewise didn't seem like much on his debut or even during the rapper gimmick that got him over. The Rock was actively hated as Rocky Mavia and even once he switched to the Rock, I bet no one saw him blowing up like he did or having the post WWE career he's had.

Even if we look at modern times, who saw Daniel Bryan and the "Yes! Movement" coming when he debuted in WWE? Sasha Banks and the other Horsewomen? Hell, even the Shield? Yes they were all pushed, but it wasn't a rocket push. They just let them go out, do their thing with good stories and matches built around them, and the fans did the rest of the work.

This is why people are saying it's best to push multiple people right now. They've got a lot of people who have crossover appeal (New Day, Sasha, Miz, Braun, etc.). If you push multiple people as strong/important, eventually someone will bubble to the top.

The irony of Reigns is that they cut off his potential by transparently choosing him as the heir apparent, which put him under a microscope and exposed just how not ready for that spot he was. He's improved a ton over the years, but the well is posioned. If they had just waited a while, they'd probably have Reigns comfortably in the spot they wanted him all along.

Triple H wants this. He has said before, he never wants there to be another guy, because the WWE should be bigger then one guy.

All the boom periods in wrestling have had one guy that transcends the business. It draws in the casual fans.

Casual fans of any sport/movie go to these types of things to see 1 person. That's how people become movie stars. CACs go to movies just to see someone like Matt Damon in anything. "Let's go see that new Matt Damon movie," they say. They don't see lets go see the martian" The Star becomes the selling point.

This is how wrestling has been, is and should be.

"Let the fans choose the top guy" is the answer then. That eliminates Roman.

He doesn't have to, his promo style is simple, make sense and straight to the point, much like Austin's were.

Telling the crowd that you are going to kick your opponents ass and it's believable > nonsensical crap that goes no where and leaves you even more confused. The shooting works or working shoots that only half of the audience gets, or the people who lack conviction in what they're trying to say.

The one thing I could see counting against Braun as being a long term face, is his size. When you bigger than everyone else on the roster, even if the program is scripted, how the fukk you going to best him as a heel when he bigger, stronger and more menacing then you are.
