As most of you know, RARE is slated to release a new game this year.
Lets get a little insight to what has been brewing... When asked what was good with the game...

"This is more fun than anything we've ever done.'"

Now it would be odd for a developer to say such a thing and there be no truth to it. So feel free to hate.
Here's the article...

Rare's Creative Director Simon Woodroffe hinted strongly this weekend that the next Xbox One game from the Microsoft-owned UK developer could be revealed at E3 2015 in June.

Woodroffe used his Twitter account to answer fan questions, but apparently he revealed more than he should as his feed has since been locked out for everyone except his confirmed followers. Before that happened, IGN posted up his messages to fans. One of them stated, "E3 will tell the world what Gregg Mayles new project is about." Mayles is a designer at Rare who has worked on games like the Donkey Kong Country series, Banjo-Tooie, and Viva Pinata.

Another person then asked if the game is original or based on an existing IP. Woodroffe responded with, "All I can give here is a quote from the man himself, 'This is more fun than anything we've ever done.'"

Rare has been working on Kinect-exclusive games for the past few years, including Kinect Sports and Kinect Sports: Season Two for the Xbox 360 and Kinect Sports Rivals for the Xbox One. There are rumors that Microsoft is planning a revival of one of Rare's older game franchises, Battletoads.

E3 2015 will be held in Los Angeles from June 16-18, but Microsoft has plans to hold its E3 press conference in LA on June 15. Windows Central will be there to get first hands reports on all of Microsoft's announcements.
I guess you can say we just added another shrimp on the barbie :francis:

Kinect games?

:mjlol:
They confirmed that they were not making Kinect games. And they don't have Hololens development kits yet.

Apparently Playtonic knows what Rare is doing and they're really excited for it too. :lupe:

--

So we're either getting:

A new IP from Rare with Gregg Mayles as the lead designer/director.
Battletoads developed by Rare/or an independent developer with Rare overseeing the project.
Banjo developed by Rare.

Rare is just a name. All the (original) talent is gone.

Its cool microsoft is looking to revive ips and finally admitting kinect is a failure By allowing rare to do non kinect games.

But theres no reason to be optimistic about whatever game theyre making.

This is a lie.

There's a lot of Rare Alumni in it. Including the creator of Banjo, composer of Killer Instinct/Conker/Viva Pinata, the artists of Banjo/Conker/JFG/Perfect Dark and and a lot of core designers for Rare. Yes, people left but not as much as some say. Even ex-Rare people still do stuff for Rare projects because they're cool with Rare/MS. The lead artist for KI came back to help with KI Season 2 for example.

And enough with the 'no noteworthy' game bullshyt. At least try to be transparent /objective about a company's thought process.

a small handfull of employees. And? Thats less than 20 people. Thats like saying apple is still the same company without steve jobs because a guy that works in the mail room is still there.

And what do you need to be objective about? You think its acceptable that microsoft has decided 10/12 months in a year dont matter? And instead throw out games like fh2 and sunset overdrive to die because they release them at the same time as all the big 3rd party games?

Its a retarded "thought process" and deserves to be ridiculed. And its one of the many reasons theyre getting there ass handed to them this gen.

You said all of the original talent is gone. That isn't true if a good chunk of the original talent is still there and works actively on a game.

What does a game's release schedule have to do with a game being noteworthy

I thought noteworthy games are decided on it's quality, not how it's marketed/released.

The founders of rare are long gone. They were rare. Once they left rare was gone in everything but name. Im sure konami will pump out mgs games without kojima. And im sure they might scrape together a couple animators that worked on mgs under kojima. Does that mean the talent that made mgs, mgs is still there?

:stopitslime: what games has microsoft released in 2015, period. What games do they have scheduled for the next 5 months? Stop playing dumb.

What, ori and the blind forest? An indie game that can be found on pc?

xbox is seeing an n64 like drought for games. So, please, lay out an objective rebuttal for the horrible year microsoft is having.:stopitslime:

honestly these xbox are winnning... ps4 is winning threads are so dum as fk...

heres the reality... right now the only exclusive game that was actually great was bloodborne.... so its 1-0 ps4

halo 5 comes out in october... that has the chance to be great... and also has the replayability factor that bloodborne doesnt... so basically the battle rides on halo 5's success
