Young Chris will fail on any label cuz he's a bum.

He couldn't make it in 10 years ago, how's he gonna make it in an era where you gotta promote yourself and the best thing a label can do to promote you is surprise release your album on a Friday?

I'd rather sign Juelz Santana and I wouldn't sign Juelz Santana with Juelz Santana's money.

He comes from an era where major labels did everything for rappers, all they had to do was show up and spit.

If he had a modern work ethic he'd forgo these labels and build a movement himself, but he's just gonna keep bouncing from place to place hoping one of them makes him pop again.

:francis:

Damn shame, too. I like Young Chris.

He should take a page out of Freeway's book. He's not the biggest rapper, but he still drops music and makes good money overseas an on festivals. Linked up with EDM/Electronic guys like Girl Talk and is eating on his own.

He's is a major label style rapper though. If he's not the next big thing, then who is he? No real back story, he doesn't have his own sound, he doesn't have a loyal fanbase. The biggest thing about Young Chris was his marketability, & malleability. You could have him make any type of record.

:yeshrug: This is his 3rd time. He was recently signed to Rico love label(who is signed to a major), but he don't fit Rico tho

That nikka gonna do nothing but ghostwrite. Rico Love pretty much said he was lazy. He got a crib for him in Miami n the nikka never stayed there. Kelly Rowland mentioned putting him on the Motivation track but he was nowhere to be found.

And to add onto my last post he did exactly what wale and meek did(he use to run wit both of them before they signed to mmg), had wake working wit state property and all that, did 30 day 30 songs events, and when him and wale released searching for a outlet he had it a competition where fans submitted they own verse and he picked the best version to be on the official song.

He tried, everybody ain't gon always pop
Being a Banks Stan I've learned to discern between lazy & just having no "want" to promote your music.

Banks like Chris has dropped countless music but for some reason doesn't like promoting his shyt. Both guys are far from broke but don't seem to have a passion for being "that guy"

It's crazy, summer of 03 I thought dude was prince of the roc, young gunz was poppin and he was getting ready to emerge as a solo artist a time. then kanye came out of nowhere and blew up and the roc split up. young gunz go to def jam with jay and their second album in 05 was trash. then neef buck or whatever he calls himself now decided he didnt wanna rap and chris was forced to go solo then.
i mean he has a lot of great mixtapes and his bars are on point. yall talking bout he doesn't have work ethic but i remember in 08 he put out like a verses every for a month(30 verses in 30 days). He has lots got mixtapes like the network series, the newprint, the revival, never die, etc. i think his music quality fell of a bit when he went to division 1. its a shame he didnt get bigger because he can do street songs, club songs, girl songs, storytelling songs, etc.
his new track is flames

I could see Puff turning Chris into another French Montana/Meek Mill lane rapper. Nothing too crazy tho, I mean we not looking at the next Drake or Cole here or nothing

Chris actually got skills too :ehh:
I can't see it. Young gunz had way more substance than that. I don't think Chris would switch up cuz he solo
