I mean u know how many mixtape young chow have? At about 15, he has tried that route, but it never took off, tbh he isn't a artist that's looking for the label to make him. I'm a big fan also, but I see this puff still is probably a ghost writing deal

if, we pay attention to the signs.
he wanted to be this type of ghostwriter nikka anyway.
so, I guess we can know who writes bad boy records and at least this time like loon.
I don't get just one record like how you want that and nuffin else.
till kayslay and amerie then hustler and a mix tape out the game with g dep.
When son had more WAY MORE talent than that.
guess Chris is the same type.

fukk that ghostwriter shyt, I ain't never letting another nikka be me.
fukk all that,...i don't care who disappointed I ain't writing for them, fukk you.
find another patsy to do your dirty work.

fukk you, that goes for female rappers, needing writers, too

Where I shouldn't be
Even if he is signing, you aint gonna hear bout it properly until the 'Finna get Loose' hysteria has died down. My man Diddy never want to confuse you with who the camera should be on right now..

Surprised I'm just hearing about this. I remember he was supposed to sign with puff back then but they went with Jay.

Anyway it isn't his work ethic at all. I dont get y'all saying that. I know Chris' fam and I know for a fact he probably the only one out the prop besides free that's constantly working and networking in the industry. How u think he got on house party? By accident? Philly got rappers everywhere lol but he keep getting deal after deal.

Chris problem is that even after all this time he doesn't have a distinct lane or base. Its like he not old or young..he's handsome but not enough where women talk about him. He not super fly but he's definitely not a bum. He just there. And being there don't sell records like that. He Tity Boi and he just gotta find what's gone turn him to Two Chains cause the talent is there.

He comes from an era where major labels did everything for rappers, all they had to do was show up and spit.

If he had a modern work ethic he'd forgo these labels and build a movement himself, but he's just gonna keep bouncing from place to place hoping one of them makes him pop again.

:francis:

Damn shame, too. I like Young Chris.

He should take a page out of Freeway's book. He's not the biggest rapper, but he still drops music and makes good money overseas an on festivals. Linked up with EDM/Electronic guys like Girl Talk and is eating on his own.
It's pretty telling that dude barely drops music. His work ethic is trash.

That nikka gonna do nothing but ghostwrite. Rico Love pretty much said he was lazy. He got a crib for him in Miami n the nikka never stayed there. Kelly Rowland mentioned putting him on the Motivation track but he was nowhere to be found.

That's not true dude. My boy did a track with Chris, another one of my friends is real good friends with him. He was in Miami for a while and did well more than an album's worth of music. I heard like 12 tracks off of what was supposed to be "Alive", and it was dope and versatile, unfortunately it was really just too late. He got screwed over bad, "Cant Stop Wont Stop" was huge, it broke records at the time and was nominated for a Grammy, but Jay and/or Dame whoever had the final call decided to put that on the State Prop album instead of Tough Luv, and that completely changed his career. By the time the Roc was ready to give Chris a solo push, they broke up. Jay became president of Def Jam and couldn't focus on Chris like that, and his buzz faded. But he's put out music consistently since then. He put out 3 mixtapes in 2014 alone. He put out The Revival in 2011, Gunna Season, Vital Signs, and Network 3 in 2014. He's not lazy in the sense of actually making music, Rico just gave him no push either, which is what a major is supposed to do. He did go indie with E1, but like a couple people said before he doesn't have the indie grind in him, I witnessed it first hand, I don't know if it's laziness or bad management, I'd say it's a combination of both, mixed with a whole lot of bad luck and bad timing. It's a shame, he's legitimately a really good dude, plus he's dope and he's put the work in. Just hasn't been in the cards for him. Also he has a track with Kelly Rowland, he has a track with Mario, and a couple other big names, he made them when he was signed with Rico, he just hasnt released them yet.

There was another poster that quoted me and said he wasn't lazy as well. Well he need check Rico then because that's definitely the way Rico portrayed him in his recent breakfast club interview. Said he got a crib for him in Miami and Chris never showed up and Kelly Rowland mentioned putting him on motivation and he was nowhere to be found. Overall it seems like you guys are right. He just doesn't really have it together business wise. Starts at the 15min mark:......Well after rewatching it and hearing what ya'll have to say, he probably wasn't calling him lazy. He was just talking about positioning and how he tries to take care of his artists or something.

This song btw was randomly one of my favorite songs years ago. And yeah, Jay kinda jacked the bull hard, and I'm a Jay fan :francis:

Ironically, I saw Peedi out in West Philly about 3 weeks ago. He was in an all white Maserati. Im dont know if he owns, leases, or borrows it but he didn't look like he was doing bad.

On 52nd?

Honestly dude, I don't think Rico ever had any real plans to put Chris out. He signed Teairra Marie too, I think he was just trying to position himself as a mini Jay-Z or like the new Jay. Chris finished the album and Rico never even pretended to give it any promo. And Chris def doesn't have it together business wise, he definitely got accustomed to the big label treatment and was never willing to swallow his pride to rebrand and present himself as a hungry indie artist. But for so many years he was right on the brink and getting told all the right things by people in positions to put his shyt out, but no one ever followed through for him.

Just for the fukk of it I'm gona drop a link to my boy's project from 2013 with Chris on there. My man opened up for Chris at the TLA on South St. last October. Obviously I'm biased cause it's my boy and I've been a fan of Chris from the start but this whole tape is dope as hell to me. Check it out if u get a chance. The track with Chris is number 11.

i never dug chris as a standalone artist anyway. i thought the young gunz were in-line for a deal somewhere.

thats how you know this deal is shabby. either that, or they specifically wanted chris for ghostwriting.

why are people shytting on his work ethic? i've rocked several Young Chris mixtapes throughout the years since his prime.

because his releases are underground/street-based and most of these guys only really know the tapes that get hyped up on the net.

so they assume that hes just sits on his ass.
