Neither Messi or Ronaldo have the power of a prime Ronaldo, speed yes, but defintely not the power. But to answer the OP original question, Messi is the better player but I wonder how much Barcelona system which is tailored to his strengths plays a part.....

While I somewhat agree, at PSV Eidenhoven and Inter Milan Ronaldo defintely displayed skills at least on the level of Cristano Ronaldo, but I believe Messi technically more skilled than both players.....

Totally agree, Messi is on another level. Other than Diego and Zidane( my futbol idols) which I have hard time putting Messi above( only cause of accomplishments in World Cup futbol, which he has already really surpassed in league play), Messi is only 26 and still has prime that can extend till 32 or 34 because of his technical skill.

He's had a better year, since Messi has been riddled with injuries.

But overall Messi is better and has better of a period of time, AND is younger.

Lol, Messi had one of his worst seasons as a pro this year and still managed to score 41 goals in 46 games

The only striker who did that and I respected it was Batistuta when he played for FRiorentina in the 90s. His team was crap but he was scoring a goal/game until he got hurt.
