This is not how the world works at all. If marriage ever had a luster it has been on a steady decline since the 60s. I'm not antimarriage but I belidve firmly it's not for everybody. Same with having kids. Evidence is mountains high that these institutions and situations that some view as a rite of passage just plain aren't for everyone.

You can get a marriage license for next to nothing and it's supposed to be a lifetime committment. You could lay down 50k for a college degree and ten years later decide you'd rather sort mail at the post office. It happens.

She probably knows in her heart she isn't marriage material and is honest with herself. I applaud stuff like that. Because most people are professional liars because they spend every waking moment lying to themselves.
