Lil bro just won NSBE prez election. I pretty much raised him on this coding life from the time he was 8. Put him in public speaking courses by 10. Has been interning at Google the last 3 summers and is on pace to start working there full-time after he graduates next year. That is if Two Sigma, Jane Street, or Goldman Sachs doesn't throw him the bag. I'm so proud.

This COVID shutdown saved me. Taking 5 senior CS courses and all exams were cancelled. I would've had to study 24/7 if I had finals

This YAML migration to a newer version of Kubernetes I'm doing is like a nightmare version of whack-a-mole where the holes are 50 yards apart and you can't see the mole at all . I have to figure out all these changes before I can deploy, and even then I won't know if anything is broken for probably weeks because the test environment they gave me isn't big enough to shake out the entire application. THEN I got mirror this shyt into another application. I'm fukked if this stuff isn't backward compatible with the version I've been working with, and I know it isn't

I converted my application and got one component to deploy . I can't deploy the rest without doing some DNS updates, so I'm not even going to bother. That still leaves backwards compatibility and mirroring into the other application. I'll have to tear down one of my current deployments and just pray . Related to that yaml talk.. semantic whitespace looks so nice but in big files can get unmanageable quick

Guys I'm 25, is it too late to get into coding. Realistically assuming I put in the work, how many months or years would it take for me to get a good-paying job?

I currently am a IT Technician but want to upgrade from this role cause it is not paying enough.
I won't be able to attend any schooling for it, so everything will be self-taught through youtube videos, udemy courses, udacity courses, books, and reddit.

never too late but don't quit your job.
I did codecademy, freecodecamp, built projects. don't be afraid to fudge your experience to get into the door. do something for a friend and say it was a freelance contract.
JavaScript Java or Csharp are the best entry points imo. learn github

So I’ve been working on an AWS project and been going to YouTube whenever stuck and yooo I swear 90% of the people making these tutorials are Indian. They got this shyt on lock

ps: anyone got a brief outline on hosting a static website created in python on ec2? I heard you shouldn’t do it in S3.

*did some digging and it looks like S3 behind cloudfront is my best solution since i wont have to manage the infra. seems like its much simpler than how i was going to go about it
