I ain't been out there in a while, mom dukes used to stay out there before she moved to Bmore and then to Suitland, but back in the day that shyt was like number 3 in the most richest counties or some shyt. I would drive around that bytch like because you wouldn't see any abandoned buildings or anything, shyt looked clean than a muthafuka. I thought "moms done upgraded like a muthafuka, must not be nothing but white people round here" (we are from L.A. and stayed in The Jungle shyt was Hood then a muthafuka) then the next morning I get up and step outside and I see nuthin but lil nikkaz waiting on the school bus and shyt. Had my ass likeagain because I had never seen an area that looked that good and had primarily Blacks living there. Sounds crazy thinking about it now

Breh... DC is the capital of the most powerful nation in the world. Of course there is gonna be some money, but to act like there are not any suspect areas is not being real. Before gentrification about 10 years ago, the city was fukkED. I'm from Atlanta and I spent some time with family in DC through the years and let me tell you. We had lil' vietnam, bankhead, Swats and the bluff but NOTHING compared to what was going on in Northeast and Southeast back in the day. Hell, Uptown/Georgia Avenue is still pretty rough. When you say DMV.. you're talking Maryland and Virginia... yes... there is a LOT of money out there, no doubt about that. There is a lot of money inside DC proper, but the disparity between the have and the have nots is greater than any american city I've ever seen.

I lived in the MS-13 area of 14th street for 8 years.. I know what I'm talking about a lil.

You telling me the rough areas in the DMV mean nothing to me.. there are "rough areas" everywhere.. But the opportunity to get out of those areas is WAY higher than any other city in America..

Go travel to portsmouth VA, Baltimore, Kingston JA (where my family is from) Charleston South Caroline, Fergueson, and tell them about the lack of opportunity that us from the DMV have

Bruh you just put Bmore in that post but you can get from the hoods in Bmore to the same places in DC you're talking about and have those same opportunities.

I do agree with you on one statement though, "it's not hard to get out of the Hood" but that goes all around. If a nikka want out they can get out but nikkas lack the drive to do it. Muthafukas would rather stand on a corner trying to get rich or push they cd for 12 hours a day seven days a week instead of getting two jobs, but that ain't just DC Bruh that's the US as a whole.

Also I have lived in L.A. DC Bmore Philly Tampa Pittsburgh and Little Rock so I have seen a lot and DC is most likely the most fukked up of them all besides maybe Philly.
