call of duty 4 def defined last gen with its online multiplayer changing the landscape permanently
last of us didnt bring any kind of new system, it was best of a genre at that point. But the gen was over by the time it dropped
im tellin yall now personally, Until Dawn's graphics(mainly the animations) + the gameplay style is truly unique to me(never played Heavy Rain, but I didnt really hear good stuff about it)
MGS5 with its sandbox style may end up being a huge deal, maybe not....but i know Until Dawn is the only game people have paused to take a look at that are casual

This is nonsense. People played goldeneye so much cause it was the only multiplayer shooter to play. A new and better one comes out every couple months now so people switch. But anyway plenty of games on that list got more burn than the week you claim.

No, we played GoldenEye for hours on end because its was pure fun period. People still play golden eye till this day. I still play the psuedo golden eye sequel perfect dark with my sons till this day.

But in the context of what the other poster was talking about, goldeneye owes allot of its longevity to the fact that there wasn't a goldeneye 2 the next year nor did it have a bunch of other games in the genre to compete with.

from 1997-1999 had some of the most GOAT games to ever come out of any era...from Unreal to Unreal Tournament, to Quake 3, to Half Life... the fukk are you talking about ? These are literally some of the top 5-10 FPS of all time what do you mean Goldeneye had no competition
