uncharted set it off for me... dropped a year after ps3.. there was no other game like it at the time

i didn't have an xbox off top so i couldn't tell you for them.. but that's what told me "oh shyt this is something i couldn't see possible on a ps2"

i haven't seen that game yet.. they haven't made it.. the one that says "oh shyt, this is next level"..

like i said before.. they used to drop with the system... now it's two years past launch and we looking at 2016 :francis:

remember when systems wouldn't even launch without 5-6 game changers on the release day:ohlawd:
This never happened before. 5-6 game changers at launch? Really? :beli:

then it slowly went to 3-4 months :yeshrug:

now what the fukk is this shyt :mjcry:

no uncharted, god of war, gears of war, halo.. barely any games developed purely for next gen.. none of them AAA

i mean don't get me wrong.. i'm enjoying what's dropped.. but i was just thinking of this same thing the other day.. where are THE games we all wanna see... that game that makes you :merchant: cause you can't even believe it's possible in a game yet
You say this which is factually untrue

i'd say that's the right direction.. but then throw in last of us.. throw in gta v...

where's the games that CAN'T be played on older systems cause they are just that fukking great?
Then you follow it up with games that are last gen.:dahell:

Seems like some of y'all like to say shyt just to say it:smh:

Uncharted didnt drop with ps3

you're obviously not getting what we are saying

DEFINE the gen... not the best game of the gen... the games that say "welcome to the next gen of gaming"... the games where you looked at your old system like :scust:

i'm not talking about MG5... a great game... but playable on a ps3/360... same with destiny... same with all the cod's and bfs... same with all the sports games.. and the remix, redo, type shyt

so forget ALL those games (as i was saying if you throw one in, throw them all in)... and remember this is two years in

now to your other points.. uncharted, which i clearly said, dropped within the first year.. and it wasn't on ps2.. and i highly doubt it could be played on a ps2... it DEFINED what was possible and the gap between the previous system

when i said we used to... i'm an old head... nintendo's launched with new marios and zeldas and metroids from nintendo to snes to n64 and maybe after that.. i didn't have one

dreamcast had gen defining games at launch and their first year was one of the greatest of all time

playstation 1 and 2 had launch defining games... ps3/xbox is where they started the 1 year approach.. by the next christmas you'd be blown away by something

shyt even the consoles themselves had brand new, innovative shyt each time

we've had good games... nobody is saying we don't... but name me the game, that 2 years in, you're turning it on and looking like :merchant:

and you can't get it on another weaker system

There's plenty of games that fit this bill

What's going on in those sports and shooter titles absolutely could not be done on last gen. Yes last gen has games of the same name, but alot of them are pretty much totally different games.

now to your other points.. uncharted, which i clearly said, dropped within the first year.. and it wasn't on ps2.. and i highly doubt it could be played on a ps2... it DEFINED what was possible and the gap between the previous system
It was over a year after ps3 came out

when i said we used to... i'm an old head... nintendo's launched with new marios and zeldas and metroids from nintendo to snes to n64 and maybe after that.. i didn't have one
You have no clue what you are talking about. Nes didn't launch with any of that.

From nes- to n64 they all only launched with Mario.

What are these 5-6 game changers you speak of?

dreamcast had gen defining games at launch and their first year was one of the greatest of all time
Dreamcast was so short lived that almost all its games were released first year. But the games that really defined the dreamcast. Shenmue, sky's of acadia, ect. Didn't come out until at least a year after launch.

playstation 1 and 2 had launch defining games...
Such as?

PS1 and 2 launches were pretty shyt.
ps3/xbox is where they started the 1 year approach.. by the next christmas you'd be blown away by something
Nah, this started with Mario on the nes

shyt even the consoles themselves had brand new, innovative shyt each time
What was so innovative between nes and snes? PS1 and 2?

we've had good games... nobody is saying we don't... but name me the game, that 2 years in, you're turning it on and looking like :merchant:

:jbhmm:
There's at least a dozen games that fit this bill.

to put it simplier... it's two years in and we don't have the flagship series from either company yet?? two years in? they didn't know they was building these joints years before we got them? they didn't plan for this?
Its not two years yet, and by the end of the year Xbox will have put out 3 of its big 4 franchises.

you haven't named a SINGLE current game... yet you say there's all these games

ps3 was released nov 2006... uncharted came out 2007

nes launched with a shytload of innovative titles cause the entire system was 169 steps up from atari and it's gameplay/graphics

ps1 and ps2 launch titles............................. man you have no fukking idea what you're talking about... i'll just bold the ones that hadn't been done before at the time... mind you this is launch day... let me not include what was available the entire first year

Ryse, Dead Rising 2, Infamous, UFC, forza 5, forza horizon 2, sunset overdrive, dying light, killer instinct, killzone, driveclub, Battlefield 4

That's all in the first year, and not even including sports titles, indies, or Wii u games.

ps3 was released nov 2006... uncharted came out 2007
Nov 2007 :comeon:

nes launched with a shytload of innovative titles cause the entire system was 169 steps up from atari and it's gameplay/graphics
So graphics update=innovative in 1984, but in 2015 its not enough?

ps1 and ps2 launch titles............................. man you have no fukking idea what you're talking about... i'll just bold the ones that hadn't been done before at the time... mind you this is launch day... let me not include what was available the entire first year

First off your whole comparison is off. Back in the early days the systems came out in Japan first, so most of the games on these lists actually came out a year or two in the cycle. Also the majority of those games are ports from the arcade. Pretty much the "remasters" of their time.

Now moving beyond that, you claimed the systems launched with 5-6 "genre defining games" like Mario/Zelda/metroid. But now when you post your lists you wanna claim shyt like Clu Clu Land, total eclipse turbo, and fantavision are "genre defining":stopitslime:

that Duke Nukem game came out like 2 years after Goldeneye, and I don't remember it being very popular

and yeah, most people didn't have access to a capable gaming PC back then. I had one, but honestly my 3dfx card was struggling, as well as my dial-up connection. and I was always into PC's, but no one else I knew had a decent PC

the first competitive FPS on console and it had 4 player split-screen. it was a phenomena. Mario Kart and such were also popular, but those types of games has been done before. Goldeneye was a lot of people's first opportunity to shoot their friend in the face. the cost of entry to do that on PC was in a completely different ballpark

:what: Duke Nukem 64 came out like 2 months after Goldeneye, went on to sell millions and was by far the most successful Duke Nukem in the series and also highest rated :heh: shyt has a metacritic of 88/100 :laff: no one gave a fukk though right :heh:

i swear this forum like the twilight zone :heh:

Goldeneye release date: August 23 2007
Duke Nukem 64 release date: October 31st 2007

yeah that looks like 2 years :duck: Duke Nukem 64 was a huge hit to man how old are you again ?

No one had access to a capable gaming pc back then ? the fukk are you talking about ? Starcraft, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 and Half Life are some of the highest selling games of all time and they came out during this era so how can their sales be so high if no one had computers capable of playing them ? imacs, the most popular computer back then, could run 3 of the 4 games above and of course PCs on Pentium 2 processors could run all 4..

Man I literally go :mindblown: reading yall shyt on here.. Goldeneye was the first opportunity for friends to shoot their each other in a game :wow: what in the actual fukk :wow: fukkin Star Fox 64 came out before Goldeneye :heh: That was 4 player multiplayer split screen and all you did was shoot at each other and it sold millions :heh:

Goldeneye had to compete against NFL Blitz, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, WWF games (they were dope as shyt back then, AAA titles), Star Fox, Duke Nukem, etc.. Back then the games were so dope we'd play them for long and play one for a few hours then switch it out for another if a friend came over, etc..

what does metal gear solid have to compete against for your play time in 2015 ? :usure:

my bad, I was thinking of Zero Hour. I never had a N64, but my peoples did, and the only game we played was Goldeneye

and you couldn't run those games on any old PC. from glquake on you needed a 3d accelerator

Starcraft is 5th best selling PC game of all time, behind Mine Craft and World of Warcraft (2 most popular games of all time). Open beta (arguably most popular beta of all time) came out 1997. Release date early 1998.

Half-Life is 7th best selling PC game of all time (Half Life 2 is #4). It came out in 1998.

These games both sold millions more than Goldeneye. MILLIONS MORE. So SOMEONE had computers capable of playing these 2 games (Starcraft didnt come out for Apple/Macintosh til 1999) on their PCs that you say no one had :heh:

but :whoa: let me stop dropping facts in here, we know the Arcadium not built for facts and shyt :heh:
