SOHH i'm buying a console in 2 weeks....should i get a PS4 or an XB1?

i figured the stans for each side would fire off all the details and features and specs and shyt so i could get a better understanding of each system and their differences, and their respective strengths and weaknesses

usually i just skim past console war threads or ignore them completely but i was hoping it would help me out this time

i'm gonna be buying a couple external drives anyway just because i been needing some, so it's good that they let you use em to back up and transfer shyt between drives

does PS4 still not let you put mp3s and video files on the hdd tho? i remember hearing something about that around launch time that they wouldn't support video or music files because they wanted people to use their services instead

you can use DLNA now, but I got spotify. spotify is built into the PS4 so you good for that if you subscribe to it premium.

How? Basically what @ORDER_66 said is the same on Xbox besides swappable hard drives. The UI is debatable. I never said the xbox was better than PS4 so take that stan talk somewhere else.

MS had a nice start with the 360 (despite that horrific red ring fiasco and ditching OG Xbox like it wasn't shyt), but the Xbox is Flavor-Aid, PlayStation is Kool-Aid.

If you like to do more than game, play mostly sports, and like shooters then XB1 is your console


If you like to do all the other shyt then PS4






I've actually been stuck with only my PS4 for like the past 2 months and it's starting to grow on me. I won't completely toss it in the bushes like I did my PSVita but once I get to the crib it's all XB1 from then on out. I got too many games, Xbox Live > PSN, XBOX Gold > PSNow, you can snap TV or apps, voice control, etc., and the fact that I can share games with my homies and vice versa ha always won me over


I guess you can look at XB1 being Samsung and PS4 being Apple...

Problem is you really won't get the truth and the thread will undoubtedly devolve into a nonsensical Stan war.

In reality there's plenty to like about both systems. You can't go wrong. Just depends on what games you like.

You mentioned shenmue and ff7. Keep in mind that those wont be coming out until 2017 at the earliest.

You also said you've been out of the loop lately but you are looking for non mech/soldier Xbox games, well there has been stuff like killer instinct, sunset overdrive and ori out already, with Scalebound, crackdown, cuphead, etc coming soon.

Go check out some trailers on those games, Xbox library is actually a lot more diverse than its been in the past.

and i feel you on the rest, the functionality of the X1 is really what interests me and has kept it from being a total failure really

The OS has more features as far as things like your friends list, and being able to customize the home screen. Media playback was better at a time, though I think PS4 is catching up In that regard.

EA acces is Exclsuive to Xbox. For about $5 a month you get access to a bunch of EA titles discounts, and early access to new games before they come out.

PSN still has security and reliability problems

The app/game store on PSN is still a mess

People report a lot of issues on PSN with friends and game lists not showing up, the store loading slow, slow downloads etc.


Ps4 build quality has come into question. Controllers breaking down quickly with shytty battery life, and PS4 consoles running loud/hot

In all honesty, both are so similar that its ridiculous. PS4 sold better because of pricing and not really changing their gaming architecture or something like that (which is why you see all these remakes coming to PS4)

But as far as more shyt you can do, XB1 is easily better. I believe it has more apps, you can sync it up with your television, you can share accounts/games (me and my homie actually take turns buying games we want to play together... no homo), and now that there's backwards compatibility it's gonna get a lot better

I don't fukk with Madden but I bought it on PS4 and never opened it. I also barely fukk with COD but I do have it on XB1... It's cool. I mostly only play BF4 but never never played it on PS4

But XB1 is basically a 360 with better graphics and more shyt to do with it. The controller is better for shooting games and they have more successful stand alone shooters and more on the way I believe.

I got Planetside 2 on PS4 but have yet to play it. Seems like a fun game though

It's gonna be tough decision. If you want to go the cheap route get a PS4 (but you might as well keep your PS3). I just bought the camera for my nieces/nephews to play with when they come over and it's a cool, sleek system. PS4 is straight but I'm a XB1 guy. My XB1 has to be worth about a grand now with all the shyt I got on it
