Here is my experience... i tried this additive called restore

A friend brought in this 2000 lexus es 300..200k miles..running real rough

It had valve noise and shytty compression on cylinder 5...all the other cylinders registered 120 psi and #5 was at 0 psi.
I do a leakdown test to determine where the leak is..looks like the piston rings are bad.

I tell him the engine is a little to old to waste the time doing a rebuild..so i look for a simple way to keep it going untill a new engine can be found (not easy for toyota)
Got this restore stuff on sale...im not a big fan of additives but the price was right and the dude at the store was convincing

Poured a a few drops into each plug hole and dumped the rest into the oil.
Ran it for 15 minutes and then did another compression check...i got around 180 on every cylinder...

car seems to be running better.
Only explaination i can come up with is the stuff loosened a piston ring that has been bound to the piston by carbon.

:ehh: Shyt actually worked....the car is still crap..not sure how far it can go but those results are impressive..I will find out in a few months when the new engine comes in how well the restore holds up.

im actually gonna use this in my preventive maintenance of my own vehicles.

what have you tried and how did it work??
