I lived in detroit for 2-3 years.. i can understand overpaying stars but roleplayers? i think you have to wait it out until the FA market dries up so that you can buy low on role players.

Like @gatorking said, you HAVE to overpay to get them there. Bad city, bad economy, bad team, bad organization....the 1st few people are gonna have to get overpaid. THEN, once they become a winning team again, FA's will be more enticed to come there.


Think about it, the 2 biggest "name" FA's to ever go to Detroit were Josh Smith and a washed up Antonio McDyess


Hell, the entire Central Division struggles to get FAs to come there, because we are in the Midwest. Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, and Milwaukee all have trouble with obtaining elite FAs throughout the course of the franchise histories
