Religion is based upon faith and faith is belief with out evidence therefore it takes a suspension of proper critical thinking to be religious.
You can be a critical thinker in other aspects of your life but religion will always be a blindspot and personally I don't believe that makes a person stupid it's just a weakness (unless you're an extremist which it seems as though you are)
