They both didn't care and threw caution to the wind, which is what both these shows haven't been doing. They've become caricatures of themselves in recent times but this show reminded me why I fell in love with them both in the first place.
The depth and history in the Simpsons universe had me legit.
Lisa talking about her Sax whilst that poster of Bleeding Gums Murphy in the background brought back a lot of memories, shyt got me thinking about the attention to detail Groeining put into these characters way back when. Each and every character had depth, the surroundings had history and Springfield almost feels like a place I used to go as a kid when things got a little bit too much over here in reality. It was clever for them to set the episode over there. The humour was provided by Family Guy and boy did it provide...
The random gags and humour without trying too hard on the Family guy front speak for themselves really. It was the funniest, most refreshing show when it aired and the gags had a sense of originality about them. The social commentary Family Guy usually provides is redundant nowadays, it's been reduced to fart humour and/or something waaaaaaay too random and corny. However that fourth wall they broke with this legit had me rolling. They made fun of The Simpsons, Family Guy and pretty much every other cartoon out there.
Needless to say they both complimented each other perfectly, providing what the other has been lacking since both shows fell the fukk off. I hope working together has given them that fresh sense of perspective.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it as well. It was weird seeing 2 shows I grew up watching come together like that. They nailed a lot of the references and the jokes about each other were well done. Peter and his views about women were
