I can't pinpoint it but I got 6 tracks in and wasn't feeling it. Her last one started off dope and ended dope. I'll give it another run tomorrow.

I wonder if Standing On The Corner had anything to do with this album? I know they worked together, some of the tracks kinda remind me of them. :ohhh:

Edit: I just read the credits. They worked on the interludes. That's so dope, shout out to Earl for putting Solange on to those cats.:wow:

the production is there. she’s not bringing it this time around.
Pretty much this, only on my first listen tho. Where are the melodies/lyrics??

Worst case it'll serve as dope ambient mood music I guess

That's the experimental aspect of the album; it's a texture album in the sense that you're experiencing the music differently from how you would listen to an album with the pop aspects you're affiliating with melody/lyrics. The focus is on how the music and vocals work together to create a feeling and vibe, whereas on an album like A Seat At The Table, the goal is to draw attention to the big catchy choruses and explicit thematic subject matter. It's something I see a lot of new alternative R&B artists are doing with their music
