So why go thru all the trouble of making it and putting it out? I fukks with shorty cause she seems to take her art seriously but this a lazy ass effort. You can make an album that's easy to zone out to and it could've been better than this. Like I said earlier, joint sounds like an album full of interludes

If you take out the interludes and sequence the album the way Jodeci used to sequence theirs (fast and radio friendly joints to the slow melodic ones) then it would ge a better listen.

1) isnt better than seat at the table
2) does not have the same replayability as seat at the table
3) doesnt not have any stand out tracks like .... you get where I'm going with this.
It's best to listen to this as if she's a new artist putting out a new type of experimental sound with a clean slate.

I know what she was going for but the songwriting feels half-baked. It kind of reminds me of Testing, a bunch of really cool ideas that are poorly executed

The difference between Blonde and this album, is that Frank Ocean is a songwriting virtuoso and layered each song with double meanings and experiences, and this album instead doubled down on minimalism to a point where half the songs sound unfinished

Nah I just mean people wanted something different so feel let down. Instead of listening to what it does do well they just hear what it’s not doing. I think it’s pretty successful for what it’s trying to do. But anyone can dislike it for whatever reason.
