i like the album. Im a fan of jazz and i see where she was trying to go with the use of space. I hear the Stevie Wonder influences as well. Im glad i didn't feed into the reviews on here. Some of the same folks that hate this type of music like unimaginative shyt like Chris Brown and Ella Mai. Solange made a vibe album and i aint mad. At the same time, i can acknowledge it aint for everybody

seems like she's been listening to a lot of The Internet as well (which is still an extension of Stevie, NERD, slave and etc:manny:)

her new Album is cold tho:myman:

Exactly..

And people were acting like they been rocking with Solange which we all know was not the truth. This album made people turn into Solange fans

her first album is dope/severely underrated though. cats slept on it. she repackaged herself but the style she was on before was cold/ended up getting magnified by Amy Whinehouse

Loved A Seat at the Table and Losing You is one of my favorite songs of the 2010s so I wanted to like this but nah, not really feeling it. Sounds like a rough draft. A lot of interesting ideas but lazy execution and Solange doesn’t have a powerful enough voice to cover that up.

If you wanna hear avant-garde minimilast music done right then peep the Tierra Whack album. Feel like Whack World was everything that this album is trying to be.

Been listening to this and gunna album nonstop. Albums of the year so far. Hope that doesn’t elicit another vibe article from nikka nerd MF doom fans.:sas1:

Any notice she manages to insert some swang on em reference on nearly every song? :heh:

first listen confused me. i dont know if i bumped her last album in full but the few songs i heard blew me away, so this new album immediately threw me off and i wasnt feeling it.

i got into it after bumping it in the am before work..it def works in that semi-high half tired zone im usually in for the first few hours of the day. its a real low key stripped down album...theres no real hits on this if you are looking at it thru that scope but its a good listen front to back unless you're trying to get hype or something.
