Once again you might be right. My point is why get offended cause people don't know this an exception to the normal rule of just adding "ian" or "an" to the end of a country when referring to the people. "American" "Canadian" and "Russian" are more common than "English" or "French".

Typically when referring to the people of a country "an" or "ians" is added. For example: "Kenyan" and "Ethiopian".

Even if it isn't correct grammer in this case, most people don't always practice proper grammer so I don't know why you would be offended.

Not it's not typical, there's also Congolese, Burmese, French, SpanISH etc.
