I think I have only worked 1 time on my birthday since I've been working. And even then it was only for about an hour. When they ask to schedule my leave for the year thats the only day I take for certain. All the other days its as much as a surprise to me as it is them.

but being in the army and realizing how much time they take from you I embrace my bday and plan to take my day off if possible.

I took off on my bday last year since it was on a Monday to make it a 3-day weekend (still got paid). Since it's on a Tuesday this year, I'll probably work on that day (Lord willin).

I book the day off, get a stupid munch, a load of beers, sometimes a cigar, crash on the sofa, watch old school films like Karate Kid, Predator, Beverly Hills cop,. . Sleep and go back to sleep on the sofa . .

I always did…treated it like a holiday…and if it fell on tues.-thurs., I’d observe it on mon. or fri. so I’d have a 3-day weekend
