- Too dangerous to play
- Not the right time to play with everything thats going on
- We want to play but too many restrictions in the bubble?


Kyrie and the players are right if its the first two but then they contradict their whole goal by complaining about #3

I hope they realize that they better not be caught in Cabo or at the club when it opens next month instead of staying in quarantine or marching for BLM
there's going to be cameras all over Disney, ESPN/TNT, interest from the whole world because nothing else is going on
Silver going to let them wear whatever BLM message they want on their warm-ups, pregame, postgame outfits

The team and the players agreed to a contract where the players would play a certain number of games during the year and be compensated

Not held in a secured facility and kept from their family, friends and even home.

If the teams and league are unable to provide the venue for the players to carry out the agreed upon terms of the contract - playing 82 regular season games, 50% in the home arena, in front of fans, sleeping in the place of your choosing during the season - then the players cannot be reasonably expected to play under these compromised conditions

It's been unclear to me where the threat of being paid half and potentially having the following season cancelled is coming from, the CBA maybe?

I do think that there should have been more of a discussion about that, but maybe it was not disclosed publicly.

So because the league will try to extort the players for exerting their rights as a unionized labor organization the players shouldn't try at all?

The league ripping up the CBA because the players refused to go along with being put in a secured compound for at least 2 months is some bad faith bullshyt.

If that happened it's on the players and the players union to put the blame squarely on Adam Silver and the rests head for putting money over players safety and well-being.

It's probably not going to happen but it's about time the NBA players exerted more control. Unlike football, baseball or hockey there ain't no replacement players coming through them doors.

For the record, I agree with you. It's unclear if the players see these threats as empty threats or if they plan to test the owner's authority. Regardless of them ripping up the CBA, the players would still have to agree on it, so I do think they have more leverage than what people think.
