no, but i asked you to provide some quotes of rocky's since you think so highly of him and here you are tryin' to wiggle ya way outta of it :lolbron:

it's all good, bruh. i understand :laff:

i ain't botherin' to explain shyt to ya ass because i posted quotes and here you are askin' for more even after i asked for you to drop some quotes :mjpls:

this is pointless because this is a troll post from you, i see through ya bullshyt, bruh. clear as day :pachaha:

a) You're quick to deflect to Rocky even though this thread has nothing to do with him.

b) You have selective reading skills (due to cowardice). I asked for quotes plus an explanation. You just dropped a bunch of quotes and scurried in true coward fashion.

c) You think Kendrick is miles ahead of DOOM which tells me that you have no idea what a good rhyme actually is. And frankly, you probably don't know shyt about 98 Mos Def either. It just sounded cool so you dropped it in.

another cursory-knowledge hip hop wannabe:snooze:

If we are using metaphors, Lupe is a lap ahead with the torch... and no one is close.

Dude is bodying cats on they own track. And he don't cherry pick who's song he hop on. And pusha no slouch now whether k dot killed him "I aint sayin that he did it but ever since that tack I was lookin at him different":russ:

I wasn't a believer until I went through his catalog of music

Now a days artist don't give you a full album no filler :comeon:

You can listen to his shyt all the way thru
That takes work and back on the features that's a testament to yo grind how do you body someone on they own track :heh:
When they have final say and can always go back re record and try to top what you wrote.
That's when you know you great when they got no choice but except that L

:whoa: But I do wonder the game overall has been dumbed :shaq2:down so much and saturated I wonder if he really that dope or you just stand out amongst the mental and lyrical mediocrity:manny:

Kendrick is a good rapper but there's just something about him that doesn't give me that "damn this shyt is great" feeling. I don't doubt his rap skills but his energy doesn't draw me in that much. Can listen to a couple songs here and there but never a full album play through after first listen.

When I heard this :whew:

I think Kendrick is dope but I do think he's overrated just a tad..but then again I think him & J Cole & Drake are all a tad bit overrated..Growing up listening to Kool G Rap, Kane, Rakim , Biggie, 2pac, Hov, Nas, Mobb , Wu etc. I guess i'm just used to the top MC's performing at a certain level..It could just be me nitpicking:manny:
With that being said the musical texture on TPAB is amazing but I can understand people being turned away because of the shyt he does with his voice & he is amazing at storytelling & putting words together but i get the "bars" argument like for instance Nas has gems in his lyrics that you can literally live by & i don't get the same feeling with a lot these new artists

I think about this all the time especially when I see people on social media saying shyt like "you need to have a certain intellectual level to listen to J Cole & Kendrick" like huh..I grew up listening to Poor Righteous Teachers,Tribe,De La, Public Enemy..I just don't get it

Kendricc is incredible
He has everything tbh

BUT. . As a rapper, like bars... he sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.. like you can't quote me great bars from Kendricc. He is 3 staccs meets PAC... passion substance style... but when he raps shyt ain't much above average... great flow delivery cadence switching, all that... but no bars

My favorite hip hop artist tho

And j. Cole gets wayyyyy more love in the streets then y'all give um credit for. The two had the best albums all year.

I'm a fan of his music and this is very true. I'd say this is probably the one part of his game he lacks. He can spit, has flows and unique delivery but as far as all out bars he don't hit you with a lot of hard hitting punchlines or  type lines. Like most of his verses have substance but they hit you like filler and if you space out getting lost in the flows or alien voices the bars themselves usually wont pull you back in. It's Casey Veggie's problem to a less extreme degree.

On the other side the most potent thing about his music is how thoughtful it is. Both albums felt like they had been meticulously planned not just sonically but thematically too. He puts a lot of soul into his music and people been responding since section 80
