What about the years MJ wasnt playing? He had 2 chances to win a ring with no MJ around and couldn't get out his conference

MJ ain't stop him from losing to Houston and Seattle every year:ufdup:

Thank you. nikka played for 19 years and MJ was retired or flabby for 8 of those years and he only made it to one Finals in those 8 years...as a ring chaser bu...bu...but MJ :mjlol:.

He told him that just after Malone shot his two free throws with game 1 (which was on a Sunday) of the 1997 finals tied at 82 in the final 24 seconds. Michael hit a buzzer beater on the next possession to win 84-82.
He actually told him that before he shot the free throws, which led him to choke.

He went to the finals twice tho. As much as any other star did in the West from his era.

karl malone is not a 3rd best offensive player ever, you are lying to hype up your boy KD for leaving his team. Having arguably the greatest longevity does not equal to being the top 3 offensive player. Karl Malone has never won the nba scoring champ title, he doesn't have crazy clutch games like dirk had in 2011, like hakeem had destroying his competition back in 94 and 95, players up to this day are asking hakeem to help their game on offense. I dont see anyone asking karl malone for help on offense. There are so many all time players who are better offensive players than Malone
Besides Kareem and MJ name 2 better scorers.

I will name more than 2

Hakeem
Wilt
Shaq
Kobe
Dirk
and I can go for more
Bron is on pace to catch Malone's record if he stays healthy
I can see KD being the better offensive player too

all of them are better scorers than karl malone

how many go to moves did karl malone have? He played in a great system getting lots of opportunities with stockton feeding him the ball, when it came to the playoffs malone would often crumble under pressure because he could not dominate the offense. Karl was an excellent finisher but there are so many players who could create a better shot for themselves than Karl Malone. You are basically looking at his raw stats. If he was truly a top 3 scorer ever he would take his offensive game to another level in the playoffs, but he didn't, mailman don't deliver on sundays :francis:

We can agree to disagree. The numbers speak for themselves. He shot 52% from the field for 19 seasons while averaging 25ppg....I rest my case.

also if you look at the stats karl would go from very efficient regular season player to a much less efficient playoff performer

his ortg would drop from roughly 113 to 105 in the playoffs. His TS% would drop about 6 or 7% constantly in the playoffs, especially in those 95-98 years. For example it 97 it went from like .600% to .501% which is even worse than that, and thats the season he went to the finals, 10% difference is not a good look at all
it's a fact, he may have been shooting 52% from the field in his 19 year career but in playoffs he would not step his game up, in fact he would become worse. That's not a sign of one of the greatest scorers ever.

If I'm talking pure scoring there are several players I'm taking before Karl Malone. Several. Malone just did it consistently for the longest in the modern era which toward the end of his career was largely influenced by Stockton being able to get him the ball wherever he wanted for that mid-range jumper that became 80% of his offence.

To answer your question, in their prime, in terms of pure scoring, I got Kobe, AI, KD ahead of Karl Malone. You can add Steph Curry to that list as well.

Not to knock Malone cuz to be so consistent for so long is definitely amazing, but there are more pure scorers than him in NBA history.
