If I'm talking pure scoring there are several players I'm taking before Karl Malone. Several. Malone just did it consistently for the longest in the modern era which toward the end of his career was largely influenced by Stockton being able to get him the ball wherever he wanted for that mid-range jumper that became 80% of his offence.

To answer your question, in their prime, in terms of pure scoring, I got Kobe, AI, KD ahead of Karl Malone. You can add Steph Curry to that list as well.

Not to knock Malone cuz to be so consistent for so long is definitely amazing, but there are more pure scorers than him in NBA history.

I totally get the rings argument but outside of that why is Karl Malone viewed as that much lesser then T.D. yes, give Timmy D the edge with rings but outside of that he's in the same league as a power forward.
