Ryder aint trash in the ring, but he's not spectacular either. He's an adequate in-ring competitor, and if competent at best, The Miz can get a decent shot then so can Ryder imo.

Prob been mentioned already, but Ryder would maybe be in decent shape if he hadn't cried so much on twitter.
If he had just confronted Vince or HHH or whoever and talked to them about the problem that's one thing, but dude is just airing his grievances on Twitter... I wouldn't be surprised if everyone agreed to bury him for being a bytch.
And I'm saying this as someone that believes Zack Ryder can be extremely over; they can build the whole midcard around him.

Every promo I heard from him was underwhelming, every match I saw from him was underwhelming. I haven't seen anything from the guy that makes me want to watch a 15-20 minute match from him. Could he have a secret, never seen ability after all these years? maybe, I highly doubt it. I remember when Carlito was doing "nothing" matches and all of a sudden he started to give a fukk, showed improvements and the same 4-8 minutes he was given started to increase because he was being more entertaining in the ring. Never seen anything close to that from Ryder.
And again, if he really is something in the ring and he's not allowed to show his true skills. Then fukking quit and start showing it somewhere else, if you are really good, then it's only a matter of time before WWE takes you back.

The Miz didn't get a "decent" push, he got the full green light and we all hated him because he showed he couldn't hang with the real main eventers.
I'm fine with Ryder being forever midcard, I agree he earned a shot at that level to show what he had. My point is that I don't think he has enough to ever be more than that so I don't see him being buried as big loss

that's what makes his story so awful tho. they wouldn't even let him be a santino-type character. His booking was petty and blatantly deliberate.

That's exactly the point, no one ever said he would be the face of the company or the world champion, but he could have been decent lower/mid carder fodder and he earned it with getting over with no help from the office. He did exactly what they preached and they punished for it. What message is that sending to wrestlers in a similar position ?
