Lopez is signed long term, and RHJ is a rookie. They aren't going anywhere, what does that have to do with our strategy for the next 5 years?

The next GM can still trade Lopez(it might be a bit hard to get decent value for him). I'm not saying trade RHJ, but move every veteran that has value on the team, whether this year or til 2020. All I'm saying is trade every vet of value for picks/young players; then use that upcoming cap space to take on bad contracts for picks/young players. I doubt the Nets will do that, but I believe it's the best thing to do.

I get where you're coming from, but we just can't do that again and have any success.

We tried the "sell the future for right now", and its led us to the shyt we're watching. Its time to try and build the right way because no star is gonna want to sign here, and the best possible thing we could get is more aging players on bad contracts which is the shyt we've watched for the past 3 seasons.

We have Lopez, we have RHJ, and we have the Celtics #1 next season. Other that that the rest of the team is not part of our future. We'll have some cap space next summer to try and sign some of those 2nd tier guys who we can try to build with, and then the season after even more. The last thing we need to do is waste all of that money again on guys to try and get an 8 seed and a 1st round exit.

The fan base is done with this Era, and doing it again is just gonna lead to more damage
