Sure. She would just sell the shares. Easy as pushing a couple buttons on a keyboard, although there's probably something else you have to do when it's that much money. Anyway, once the shares are sold they're the same as income so you have to pay taxes on the amount you gained, but yea, it's a liquid asset.

how does the whole shyt work like that...how can 1 miilion shares be available like that.......

let me see if i get this right okay

most companies start off private with a founder and and owners.

lets use the apple example that i think i saw in the movie

its 2 founders a one investor. therefore 3 owners

.now the company goes public....those individuals are now replace by a board of directors?
who appoints members of the board of directors

and does it come to where a number like 1 millions shares are available?

They create shares for people to purchase.
Companies do that to generate capital to invest in the company or other ventures. The trouble that can arise from going public is that then you're responsible to shareholders and there's the possibility that you can lose control of your own company if someone manages to purchase a majority stake.

Supply and demand.

What was Apple's stock price a few years ago? Like $500 a share? They were doing so well with their phones and iPads that everyone wanted in on their profitability.

Actually, I just checked. Apple's stock is at $520 a share. Insane.

Maybe. I'm not sure.

There might be a minimum block of shares that you'd have to buy.
But theoretically, yes.
