To me, and I have no knowledge of this situation, but looks like she married a rather unattractive guy who, probably had some good money, eventually she fell out of love for whatever reason and wanted a divorce. He already had domestic violence issues and was probably possessive. Bad combination. She wants out, he doesn't, she insists it's over... so he kills her.
