First off not dissing dude cause I fukk with his music and I wish him the best.
I have been familiar with most of the recent buzzing Jacksonville rappers for a while now. The scene is small and everyone knows everyone if you’re involved in music or entertainment in any way, or regularly talk to people who are.
I’ve been familiar with most of these drill dudes since at least 2019…Foolio, Ace, Spinabenz, etc. Even ran into a couple of them in studios before. They all were like local celebrities among their age demographic and had thousands of followers and streams before they were any kind of mainstream at all.
Nardo Wick’s debut album was called “Who Is Nardo Wick?” and it seems like a troll title. I promise you this, NOBODY EVER HEARD OF NARDO WICK IN THE CITY. The other rappers never heard of him. Dudes from his own hood never even heard of him. He literally came out of nowhere and immediately had all types of big budgeting behind him.
This seems like the most obvious case of an “industry plant” plant. How does one become an industry plant? Is there an industry plant application process or something?
