They want to trade me for my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee which is completely paid off. The only thing I pay for is insurance. In the trade I’d get their 2022 Porsche Macan S and I'd have it for the remaining 14 months of their lease. I'd take over the payments which are almost $1000 but he’d keep paying his insurance and my insurance for my Cherokee. We would go half on any unforeseen maintenance issues.

Am I being a complete vain dumbass for considering this?:patrice:

I don't think it means much but our families are friends. This nikka was always flexing. He was 16 in a infinity suv with them thangs on it. I mean, his mom was making his payments but the hoes didn't know, nor would they have cared. He was EATING!:russ:

Anyway, fast forward he's “trying to save money for a play” but I know that's pride talk for “HELP they about to come get this thing and it's gonna fukk up my credit:damn:

I save/invest just over 2k a month so I'd be cutting that in half but in no way would I be close to struggling or even stressed because of this dumbass decision.

What would y’all do?

Financial literacy should be required before leaving high school.

I mean, my portfolio is looking aight these days. Compound interest and I are like this 🤞.

I wouldn't be ignorantly ignorant. I'm very aware of how dumb this would be but maan that thang is clean.:banderas:

The only red flag to me is the insurance and maintenance, the porsche may have some issues with it that aren't being told to you. Also the maintenance on it will be more expensive than the Jeep.

Other than that, if you got the bread, I'd take it. I love porsches.

I'd pay that bytch off if I had the money then start saving for a backup car tho just so I wouldn't have to have it as a daily driver.

Edit: it's a macan? :scust:

I'm sitting here thinking it's a boxster or something. :camby:

I guess you agree that this is the “poor man’s Porsche”?

As far as a backup car, I still have my 96 impala.

I've never owned a foreign so I didn't even know some of them got looked down on except the lil baby benzos.

I'm ultimately going to trade my jeep in and get a 4runner and a vintage whip I won't speak on just yet but I thought this would be a fun detour until then.

This sounds dicey imo but do your thing OP

I probably will pass. But most of the people I'm close with are characters who are all about YOLO. Even the financially responsible ones will wild out every now and then. So I don't really have responsible counsel irl.
