I think this has to do with that small stretch of land near Nepal/Bhutan. It’s in a precarious part of India because it’s the only thing attaching the rest of the subcontinent with its more isolated state in the Far East of the country bordering Myanmar and Bangladesh.

It’s slowly becoming a geopolitical flashpoint with China’s Belt and Road project whereas India wants to develop its own infrastructure in this corridor to diversify options in terms of transporting goods and resources. This has particular importance when it comes to Calcutta which is iirc the major urban center in that part of India.

Correct me if I’m wrong on this tho. There’s lots of flash points that are hardly discussed tho. Like I ain’t know Azerbaijan and Armenia had beef. There’s lots of jockeying for power going on out there.

That Armenia Azerbaijan beef is something serious One of my close friends in uni was from azerbaijan and told me about it. He really disliked armenians, we were even in a group project with an armenian and he didnt like him just off the strength of him being armenian. And the armenian dude didnt fukk with him either
